Anybody know where I can download slides and mods for Press Your Luck Expert Edition? (Administratiors, if this is against the rules, please feel free to lock and/or delete this thread.)

Moving this to "General Game Show Discussion." This is a bit of a grey area. The game itself was explicitly ordered taken down by Fremantle on the grounds they were releasing their own officially-licensed Press Your Luck game for PCs and consoles, so we really can't help you find that aside from the usual "Google is your friend" admonitions with a reminder that you are technically committing an illegal act if you download it. Even though the official PYL game is now out of print, you can still find new and used copies in places like GameStop and Best Buy, and Amazon still offers it for sale as well. But you're not asking where you can download PYL Expert Edition, you're asking where you can get replacement slide graphics and other mods for it. Now, that to me is another matter altogether. I don't see a problem with anyone linking to user-created stuff for a game, even if the game itself has been deemed a copyright violation, but Mandoli will have to provide the definitive last word on that subject. Unfortunately. I can't help you there simply because I don't know of anywhere that such mods can be found. Again, Google might well be your friend...

Just passing through, but I wanted to note this... The game itself was explicitly ordered taken down by Fremantle on the grounds they were releasing their own officially-licensed Press Your Luck game for PCs and consoles, I know it's well within Fremantle's rights, and I'm not contesting that, but when Ludia's official game feels like it had less effort put into it than the fan-made ones and GameTek's official 1988 computer game...it kinda felt like a slap in the face, especially since a Ludia representative had gone to Golden-Road.net during the game's development and asked the fans for input. Even though the official PYL game is now out of print, you can still find new and used copies in places like GameStop and Best Buy, and Amazon still offers it for sale as well. Having seen reviews and playings of the Wii game along with stupidly buying the DS version from Best Buy (on clearance, so I wasn't ripped off too badly), I'd say anyone who wants to play a home edition of Press Your Luck is probably better off doing some Google-Fu for PYLEE and/or Curt King's game. The only way I'd really recommend Ludia's game is if you can get the later releases (only for PS3, I think) which had the proper Big Board sound, proper theme music, and an array of prizes rather than just generic overpriced trips.

I did some Google searching for a version of PYLEE but I had no luck. Some links were leading to my browser raising flags for malware.

Well if I am doing something wrong, again, feel free to take the thread down. If not, does anyone know of a link to a file sharing place like zippyshare or mediafire where they have what I need? I already have the game (had it for years), I just need additional slides and mods, that's all.

Agreed. Unless and until Fremantle says otherwise, we should treat this like pirated software... you can find it if you really want to via judicious application of Google-Fu, but we as mods cannot and will not help you do so.
This applies to everyone here, BTW. Posting links to where you can download PYL:EE can (and probably will) result in warnings and/or bans as laid out in the rules. (What you do in private messages, however, that's your own business. Hint, hint.)

Actually, the PYL Expert Edition site was taken down because the site host, Robert Searcy, his server was hacked around December 2007. Fremantle had nothing to do with it - at least that's what I was told then.
