Since the Daytime Emmy Awards was today I'm curious to know which game show won the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show? Because I knew that last year LMAD was the winner of the Outstanding Game Show last year and so I'm wondering if LMAD won another Emmy this year. Also was The Chase nominated for a Outstanding Game Show Emmy this year as well?, Kelsey

In the categories relevant to our genre: Outstanding Game Show Host went to Craig Ferguson (Celebrity Name Game), while Outstanding Game Show was Jeopardy!. Steve Harvey also won an Emmy, but for his talk show, not Feud.
There was also a skit involving Tom Bergeron, Regis Philbin, Charo, Marie Osmond, and Fred Willard where they played a mock game of Password Plus (of all versions!).

I heard about the winners of the Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host Emmys from Mom and to me I have always thought that the Outstanding Game Show and the Outstanding Game Show Host categories for Emmys have always been cursed and I have noticed this every single Emmy Awards show. Take for instance I cannot believe that The Chase wasn't even nominated for an Emmy this year and the same thing with LMAD as well. I am shocked at this outcome and I feel that The Chase or LMAD should've been picked to win Emmys this year because The Chase is still a monster hit and a second Emmy could've done wonderfully for LMAD as well, Kelsey

Primetime = anything airing in the early-evening spot. Chase is technically a primetime game show. Can't be nominated for this award.

I didn't actually catch the timing of when all those awards were given out, but I do know that Alex Trebek looked sad when Craig Ferguson won for Outstanding Game Show Host. So, does this mean Jeopardy won after Craig Ferguson?

Jeopardy was the winner for Best Game Show last night because it was the same award that Jeopardy won last year.

But was Craig Ferguson's award given out before or after Jeopardy's award last night?

If it matters that much, then yes, Craig was awarded his Emmy before Jeopardy! was.

There was also a skit involving Tom Bergeron, Regis Philbin, Charo, Marie Osmond, and Fred Willard where they played a mock game of Password Plus (of all versions!). Which in turn was the setup for Betty White receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.

If it matters that much, then yes, Craig was awarded his Emmy before Jeopardy! was. That explains why Alex was sad, but then he became happier when Jeopardy won its Emmy!

That explains why Alex was sad, but then he became happier when Jeopardy won its Emmy! I love how people make assumptions on someone's feeling based on a two-second close-up.

▲ This. People read far too much into the littlest things sometimes.

Chase is technically a primetime game show. Can't be nominated for this award. That didn't stop it from being nominated last year...
