I was mostly curious about everyone when it comes to family. Do you have family members that like game shows, whether casually or at the level of fanaticism that you have for the genre?
My younger brother likes some in passing, he was a fan of Press Your Luck and Match Game. My Mom meanwhile, was a big fan of all the controversial Chuck Barris shows. Her favorites were The Newlywed Game, The Dating Game, and The Gong Show. Especially a fan of The Gong Show, enough of a fan that she has asked me in the past if they've ever put The Gong Show on DVD. My Mom was also a big fan of Match Game and The Hollywood Squares; loved Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly.
My Dad meanwhile, had a passing interest, but out of the family he's the only one besides me that will still watch anything. Steve Harvey's version of Family Feud gets heavy airtime on his TV. His favorites in the past were Let's Make a Deal and The Hollywood Squares, him being a huge fan of Paul Lynde as well. My Grandmother absolutely hated game shows. Thought they were tacky and fake.

I don't know if this counts, but my mother's boyfriend watches Jeopardy!. So he's a casual viewer of the genre. Mom watches when she's with him. My grandfather (hereby referred to as "old man") watched the lewd shows that GSN aired. Willingly. That meant a lot of Baggage and Love Triangle - and this was a guy who used to watch Jerry Springer like it was the television version of the Bible.

My mom's been a "Jeopardy!" fan for the longest time, think she picked that up from our late grandmother. A lot of us love watching "Family Feud" and "The Price is Right" too. But I'm the only one who's into watching GSN and the classics.

My aunt has liked game shows for as long as I can remember. One of the game shows she really enjoyed was Richard Karn's Family Feud and would watch it with my cousin and now my aunt's favorite game show is The Chase and she watches it every Thursday like me. My grandma also is a game show fan and she loves The Chase as much as I do. Mom also liked game shows growing up and she LOVED Richard Dawson's Family Feud and The Gong Show and of course LMAD, Kelsey

Looking back at it, my viewings of The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune pretty much started because of my grandmother watching them. I think it's safe to say that one of my aunts was too at some point. She used to own the old WoF board game from the late '80's. My mom likes them, but not as hardcore as me.

My aunt was probably the biggest game show fan next to me and every afternoon she would watch Press Your Luck reruns when USA showed them and also she watched Sale Of The Century too. But the second game show fans in my family were my grandfather and great grandma and they would watch TPIR every morning and I would watch it along with them and it was cool. But when Wheel Of Fortune came on each night it was such a comedy show because every time Grandpa would try to solve the puzzles my great grandmother would accuse him of cheating and I would be sitting in my toddler chair shouting out the answers and then Grandpa thought it was really cute that there would be a future game show contestant someday. Grandpa was also a Jeopardy fan too, Kelsey

My dad watches the game shows with me. He grew up with shows like Match Game, Price is Right, Jeopardy, Family Feud, Password, etc. of course.
We will watch The Chase, Idiotest, 5th Grader, Chain Reaction, and he did like 500 Questions too, like myself. We will try new game shows if we think they might be good, we don't try them all, but we do try new game shows sometimes of course.
My grandparents like game shows too, for a long time they watched Jeopardy every night after dinner. But in my house, its my dad.

Our whole family is full of game show fanatics. From The Price Is Right to Wheel Of Fortune, we get great enjoyment out of shows like that. My mom really loves Family Feud while my dad really enjoys Jeopardy. Game shows make for a great time for all of us.

My mother apparently hates game shows. I am not sure if it has to do with my obsession with the genre.
Every time my father has Wheel of Fortune or Family Feud playing on the TV (both of which I am not interested in these days, so obviously I am not obsessed with them anymore) when I am at my parents' place for dinner, my mother tells my father to turn it off. Again, this is a sign that my mother has a very strong hatred for everything I am obsessed with, especially if I've been obsessed with the genre for 40 years now. I am not certain if game show parodiy segments on Sesame Street may have motivated me to become obsessed with game shows when I was about 3 - it started with The Price is Right, and it breeded into obsessions with other game shows until around 1995 when I was no longer interested in newer game shows or newer revivals.
Thankfully, only two game shows are my only obsessions remaining, and oh well, my obsession will likely come to an end before I turn 50. At least there may be a chance that my obsession with one of the two shows I focus on will likely dissolve by this time next year.
It could be possible that, if not for obsession, I am probably not interested in TV at all. Though I did become interested in certain cartoon series as I can understand the storyline more unlike when they originally aired in the 80s - I probably focused on certain scenes in certain cartoon episodes when they originally aired, and if I couldn't understand the storyline back in the day, chances are I truly wasn't interested in those shows when they originally aired.

Several mornings I have seen my mom try to watch Catch 21 with me while she does her beauty routine and whenever it's the end of Catch 21 Mom will even cheer for the contestant who's playing Catch 21 during the end and it's so funny. Also every morning before he watches the morning news Dad is also known to watch Who Wants To Be A Millionaire sometimes. My aunt was also obsessed with Wink Martindale's Trivial Pursuit when it came out and in fact she liked watching it so much that my aunt bought the board game version of the Trivial Pursuit game show, Kelsey

My mother sometimes likes to sneak into my room and try to watch LMAD with me when she's next door cleaning her room and it's really funny because as soon as she hears LMAD start it's theme music she knows i'm doing alright and it's a surprise because she has tried to watch LMAD with me and I always say no but she likes it anyway. Another game show that Mom started liking at first but then started to dislike now is The Chase and every time Friday rolls along Mom is known for saying "Oh My Gosh Kelsey not The Chase again" and to this day even the name Chase she dislikes to hear but Mom has grown to love The Chase now and likes Brooke Burns a lot, Kelsey
