Did anybody on these boards have a game show obsession and then lose the obsession after so long?
I have to admit, I've been into game shows starting around 1975 or 1976. It started with TPIR, and it evolved to other game shows. But, by 1990, there was far less variety of game shows on the air for me to enjoy, and the newer versions of or newer game shows (save for the first Carmen Sandiego series, and Millionaire) didn't appeal to me. I did go through periods that I would not watch TPIR and after a while go back to it. After Season 40 of TPIR, I was less interested in the series though I would (and will, for now) watch on my days off from work. As the years go by, I seem to be less interested in game shows slowly but surely. Press Your Luck on GSN is nearly exhausted, and my interest in Eubanks' Card Sharks still has a bit of life left. Once both those shows are exhausted, my obsession with game shows will likely die, and I will likely enjoy being on Second Life and other virtual worlds more, plus I will have more time to enjoy physical activity. I think that day will likely occur by the time I'm 50 years old.

I don't think there was ever an "obsession" on my end. I just felt like after a certain period of time, the aura just wasn't there anymore. Game shows are built on "bigger and better", which isn't always true.
So I believe that watching shows here just don't provide me with that passion that I had when ten years ago.
Certain shows (Battlebots remake) give me the feeling, but hell... It's a rare occurrence that whatever it is comes back.

I have been obsessed with game shows since I was younger when my grandfather and great grandmother would watch them and they liked TPIR Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy but then I broke away from game shows when I started watching cartoons and other shows but when we got cable my mom and I liked to watch Lifetime Television because they showed sitcoms and we were looking for sitcoms when Supermarket Sweep came on and we just LOVED it and then Shop Til You Drop came on and we liked it as well. But my game show obsession came back when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire debuted and I just loved game shows and Deal Or No Deal came on my love for game shows grew even more. Game shows are something i'll continue to watch throughout my life and you can bet when I turn 50 my love for game shows will still remain, Kelsey
