The entertainment mogul from Down Under who produced Sale of the Century in many countries, along with Time Machine and Scrabble in hte U.S., has passed away. Story HERE. This means three people involved with Reg Grundy Productions are no longer with us. The others being Jim Perry with $ale, and Charlie Tuna with Scrabble.

Reg Grundy didn't create Sale of the Century; Al Howard (yes, the same Al Howard who created Supermarket Sweep) did.
The first official version of the series, under the guidance of Reg Grundy Productions, premiered in Australia in 1980. Before that, there had been versions in the U.S. (1969-1974), Brazil (Circa Late 60's-Early 70's), and the U.K. (1971-1983).
