But TPIR will at least be able to have some audience for its fiftieth season which will start taping in two or three months. I suspect all LA-based game shows will have some audience come the new season. Perhaps 25 Words or Less will tape for season three the way they do for season two for budget reasons. Feud is I think still taping in Atlanta so no word on whether audiences will be attending that when it starts taping again.

I obesrved, over the latter years of Bob Barker's tenure, that in Spelling Bee, for many of Bob's latter years, whenever a contestant lost on a C or an A, Bob would build suspense before revealing the losing card, such as raising the card slowly before he sees the letter, or resorting to suspense with ad-libbing. However, I noticed, if memory serves correctly, that Bob would reveal the losing card rapidly without suspense if the losing card was an R. I don't know of any occurrence during the late 1990s or 2000s TPIR where Bob would reveal the losing card rapidly and the letter be an A or a C. The last two occurrences of a contestant losing on an R during Bob's tenure were on episodes originally aired on November 30, 2005 and February 16, 2006. The former occurrence involved a contestant needing a CAR card, and the latter contestant she had a bad start with three As before revealing the R on her fourth card - she needed a C to win, but she lost on another R.
I definitely do not recall any occurrence where Bob Barker would build up suspense on a losing R. If there is a video link of any playing where Bob built up suspense on a losing R, feel free to post.
I do recall two occurrences where Bob built up suspense on a winning R. One occurrence was in early April 2007, and another occurrence was in the late 1980s or 1990s, where Bob raised the card to his face, and uttered "It's not one of the two cards in which it says CAR... but it's an R!"

Speaking of Bob Barker building suspense, I remember one time on contestant's row where a contestant stupidly bid one dollar less than another contestant. Turns out, that contestant got an exact bid and Bob built up the suspense with ad-libbing (I guess that's what it's called; if CSF calls it that, I'll call it that too). It was funny, but because of the stalling Bob did, you knew that contestant got the bid right despite it being a very bad bid.

I know that most times, whenever Bob did ad-libbing and suspense before revealing the final card in Spelling Bee, it was a telltale sign that a contestant was going to lose.

Something very rare happened today in one of the games: a contestant won $25,000 in Punch-A-Bunch. That was awesome!

1,000th post! That doesn't count stuff in the off-topic boards and I know it took me a while to get to this point, but still, I can't believe I reached this milestone. Now back to your regular scheduled programming... Another rarity happened today: a win in Temptation! It's always nice to see games like this be won.

Sorry, no studio audience. Saw the Randy West pics.

Buzzerblog said that 25 Words or Less will once again tape without a studio audience(no word on if Meredith will host in studio or virtually from her home in NYC again), and You Bet Your Life with Jay Leno, bowing on 9/13, will have a 60 seat audience. Feud is taping in Atlanta with no audience, and no word on Wheel, Jeopardy, and Deal. I suspect Deal will do what they did last year, and WOF and J! will start the season without a studio audience.

Sorry, no studio audience. Saw the Randy West pics. I'm surprised by this. I get that the pandemic is still a thing and it should be taken seriously, but this is Price's 50th anniversary. Surely there's a way to get some sort of audience in the studio without it being an issue. This is really disappointing. Understandable, but still disappointing.

Drew just announced that taping resumes on August 2 with a "limited audience". Not a full audience, but not the empty void of last year.

Amber Lancaster reported that on MOnday, which as per an interview with Drew, would have been the first day of taping for season 50, that she tested positive for COVID, as per Golden-road.net. No word on whether that would have delayed taping or not, but it certainly could have.

Not that it's any of my business, but I haven't heard anything about Drew getting the vaccine. If he did, then I guess he decided not to be public about it.
