Today's TPIR is a repeat from Christmas Week 2021, just to inform you fans. Sounds like Drew's COVID-19 threw off the schedule a bit. Doesn't seem like it, based on the promo video they threw up on Twitter.

Doesn't seem like it, based on the promo video they threw up on Twitter. Three holiday repeats were slotted in place of regular episodes which are expected to air in January because of Drew's bout with COVID. hmm interesting, I wonder if the 10 year buffer will be lifted for the first one. From what I've heard, it was.

I read the recaps from the first two shows of Season 51 Christmas Week, and I noticed there was no playing of any of the big three car games so far. I know that 3 Strikes was played twice this season so far, if memory serves correctly - and the most recent playing was less than a month ago as of this post. It sounds like the producers do not want to schedule playings of such game so close apart, as that game typically gets no more than four playings per season during a typical Drew Carey season.
I can see 3 Strikes getting its third Season 51 playing next month or in February.

Watching TPIR right now. On the finale of Christmas Week 2022, Drew's jacket is the same tartan design that Bob Barker wore on the Christmas Week finale 40 years ago. Also... A family won a $74,000+ Audi on Golden Road today, plus they won a Showcase with an SUV, winning over $130,000 in prizes. Talk about ending Christmas Week with a bang!

Man, again! Don't post any more spoilers. I don't think you're getting it. I'm sorry about any spoiler alerts around.

I'm sorry about any spoiler alerts around. Stop. Just... Stop. You quoted a post from September. I get if you quoted it at the time, but doing it four months later?

I will declare Kimberly’s Showcase on today’s episode a technical win BECAUSE SHE WAS CLOSER TO THE ARP THAN RONNIE. This episode should have had three Showcases! Tomorrow’s episode will have the same thing.

I'll keep this short and sweet, then we'll move back to TPIR discussion:
Even I didn't know that was him, until I noticed his "technical win" BS. Then I realized that at one point, he tag teamed with Shaun Shaffer to poke the proverbial bear. It hasn't been since 2014 since I've seen this clown (Taylor, not Shaun) roaming the board. He managed to get in more posts. But he shouldn't have gone and said what got him banned in the first place...

I remember making a post some months ago about contestants on Spelling Bee losing on an R, and I was wondering if Bob lifted the losing R card like he would when I would have assumed he only did that if a contestant lost on an A or a C, while Bob flipped the losing card rapidly only if it was an R.
After viewing the November 18, 2003 episode on YouTube (I downloaded it too), it appeared that he did lift the losing card to his chest, and it was an R (the contestant needed the CAR card to win). This was the only "R" loss from the Bob Barker era with losing horns to exist on YouTube.
I am thinking rapidly flipping the losing card was more due to time constraints, being played after the first pricing game, and having a larger number of cards, and in the February 2006 playing, I now realize that Bob could have flipped the losing card rapidly even if it would have been an A. At the time of the initial broadcast, I wasn't surprised the contestant lost on an R, but after seeing the November 18, 2003 playing yesterday, I have different thoughts now.
I know that Spelling Bee was played on the September 30, 2005 episode, and it was the third pricing game that day. I believe the contestant had all five cards, but I would be very interested to find out if Bob flipped the losing card rapidly even if it would have been a C or an A. Considering there's been a lot of 2000s Barker-era episodes being uploaded to YouTube lately, I have optimism that the episode in question will someday see the light of day on YouTube.

I think tomorrow is likely a Valentine's Day special, given it's been a tradition since 2009. I may get a chance to see such episode tomorrow due to a possible snow storm for my hometown forecast for tomorrow.
Also, considering we are now midway through February sweeps, I wonder if we may get to see Big Money Week this week or next week? I know during February sweeps last year, they had Dream Car Week from February 21 to 25 (and I saw a six-figure priced car offered and won on February 25). That said, I wouldn't be shocked if Big Money Week or whatever gimmick they have in store, may likely occur during February 20 to 24 - otherwise we would have seen a promo last Friday. They rarely have a gimmick week that includes a holiday special too (though it has happened a small number of times).

Tony Harrison, formerly of the Fabulous 60 minute TPIR website, who was on the show on 10/13/1997 and played Plinko and won $5100, was on the 4/19/2023 episode of TPIR and won Ten Chances in three chances.
