Tony Harrison, formerly of the Fabulous 60 minute TPIR website, who was on the show on 10/13/1997 and played Plinko and won $5100, was on the 4/19/2023 episode of TPIR and won Ten Chances in three chances. Makes up for the cringe worthy playing of Secret X

That was a kick-ass playing of Ten Chances yesterday. I was at work getting ready, and TPIR was on in the break room. Amazing job.

Regarding Season 8 of TPIR, I noticed that, upon entering 1980, there were no new episodes in January 1980 and February 1 through 5, 1980. Was the reason for just over a full month of no new episodes due to a labor strike or something?

You know, I was wondering, could it be possible that CBS could consider ordering some fresh episodes of "The Price is Right at Night" for the fall, due to the writers' strike? I see nothing on CBS's press release about the show being part of the fall 2023 lineup, so maybe that might be considered for later on down the road (November sweeps, maybe?), should the strike continue into September.
I mean, when the strike previously occurred in 2007-08, CBS ordered new episodes of "The Price is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular" for February, March and April 2008 - possibly expecting the strike would not end anytime soon by that point. In late February 2008, shortly before or after CBS aired the first of those episodes, the strike ended. But due to the success of the game show, CBS ordered a few additional episodes through May. This could imply that the writers were busy producing scripts for the few remaining episodes that season, or CBS may have thrown in the towel for whatever scripted programming would normally have aired on Friday nights at the time, as by the time the scripts were completed, it would be close to Memorial Day, when the seasons would normally be over.
I do know that ABC expanded some game shows and reality shows for the fall 2008, including Dancing with the Stars. One of the programs for the fall is expanded to three hours, based on what I read on an article.

You know, after learning about the retirement of Gina Edwards, I have a very interesting question to ask. What Barker-era staff, other than Rachel Reynolds, is still working on TPIR?

Producer Adam Sandler was there in the mid-90s, and started before Barker starred in Happy Gilmore with the more famous Adam Sandler.

What would be the Drew era equivalent of the Dob/Fingers/Phil or did the show phase out the judges table at one point? (it can be seen on certain 90’s episodes)

(it can be seen on certain 90’s episodes) You could see the list of pricing games being played when they got a shot of that table. That table got hidden from camera view certainly after Roger left.

I suspect they'll do an "In Memory of Bob Barker" at the end of one of the rerun shows this week and maybe tape a tribute episode to Barker in the near future. The new season starts on 9/25. When Monty Hall died on 9/30/2017, LMAD did a tribute to Monty episode which aired the following Friday.

The day we've dreaded has finally arrived Well, for some people (I can't tell you whom, because I just don't know)... It's cause for celebration. If you can find any of those folks, let me know. Okay?

I watched occasionally (read: maybe a few shows a week) when Bob hosted, but when Drew started hosting, it was all over.
At first it was just cause I had to know how Drew would do, but by the end of his first week…that was it. I jumped into his arms, so to speak, and haven’t looked back since.
