CBS Family Feud preempted dates

Here are the dates were I can safely say the CBS run was unavailable. If anyone knows the rest, please add them to this thread.

November 21-22, 1988 (Thanksgiving)
January 2, 1989 (New Year's)
January 20, 1989 (George H.W. Bush sworn in)
September 4, 1989 (Garfield & Friends airs in lieu of Feud)
March 29-September 10, 1993 (Reruns)

ivoryface86 is correct about the Labor Day 1989 preemption, but Feud did in fact air on May 29. Newspaper links below.

Going by 29 year old fuzzy memory, ISTR the daytime game shows on CBS on 2/20/1989 preempted for cartoons, with TPIR airing in the early afternoon. Also add Jan 1, 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993, as they were all on weekdays. THanksgiving every year from 1988-1992 and presumably the day after Thanksgiving those years would see a preemption. Probably 1/20/1993 for the Clinton first inaugural too. Odd fact about that week in game show history: Scrabble 1993 and Scattergories debuted that week, and there'd be a preemption Wednesday. IIRC they taped five shows for the week, and the Wednesday show either never aired or aired later in the run if/when they ran the first week(Scrabble and Scattergories did IIRC show about five weeks of reruns in their 21 week run)

Yep, that is correct. There were indeed cartoons on February 20, 1989.

Apparently, there were five weeks of reruns between Halloween 1989 (episode #341; Boalbey Vs. Plouffe) and Halloween 1990 (episode #572; Harrington Vs. Brehm), as well as three more pre-emptions (excluding Thanksgiving 1989 and New Year's Day 1990). But when exactly those happened, I don't know.

Family Feud CBS daytime and TPIR both aired on 1/20/93, despite being CLinton's inauguration day. tpirstats.com/Calendars/Season_21_games.html lists the pricing games played on the 1/20/93 episode. 8mmhistory posted the second half of the hour-long Feud CHallenge episode they claim to be from 1/20/93 on their Youtube page. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYaHzMRzGy0

But why does it say in this issue of the Toledo Blade that there would be no show on January 20, 1993? Did they make a mistake?

It even says in the Vanderbilt archive that the coverage began 9:00 a.m. CST/10:00 a.m. EST.

None of the commercials indicate that this aired on January 20, 1993. I'm sorry, but the mystery is not solved yet.

The Major Dad episode promoted after the show aired appears to be the 1/22/1993 episode, as per Wikipedia. Street Stories and Top Cops were said to air "Thursday", which means its a MOn, TUe, or Wed episode(1/18-1/20). The last two seconds of that video shows pics of Washington, Lincoln, and the COnstitution, which implies an inauguration special. Seems as though Feud aired that day but TPIR did not. The Cleveland news 8mmhistory posted yesterday is also from 1/20/1993. Also, the TPIR pricing game website I mentioned above has February 17th blank, while not having January 20th blank. Golden-road.net's FAQ says the 1/20 episode did air on 2/17.
