Here's a cool article on William T. Naud, creator of game shows such as Rhyme and Reason and Blank Check. Turns out he really is a real person afterall. My longstanding theory was that he was just Jack Barry using a pseudonym. Pretty cool to place a face behind the name now!! www.boothbayregister.com/article/william-t-naud-game-show-guy/100621Of note, I had no idea he was one of the people behind Ricky 1, an extremely bad movie I watched as a kid.

And he's one of the few 70s game show production house heads still alive, alongside FIshman and Freer(Diamond Head Game, Fun Factory, Dealers Choice) and Ron Greenberg(WHo What Where and Big Showdown). And of course, Rhyme and Reason was not the #1 show in daytime in 1975, it was Match Game 1975, at least in terms of game shows.

And Rhyme & Reason borrowed heavily from Match Game. Can't have Richard Dawson? Well, there's Nipsey Russell (no disrespect to Nipsey).

Dawson did do at least the existing on Youtube pilot episode of Rhyme and Reason, and that was done in late 1974 or early 1975 when Match Game was #1 on daytime TV. Rhyme and Reason wound up being replaced by Feud on the ABC schedule.
