BUZZR "Fresh" Schedule for Week of 9/30/2024 EST
10:30am - Press Your Luck - #672-#6848:00pm - Card Sharks 87 - #418-#425 (#426-427 will air, but have been shown on Buzzr)SAT/SUN 12PM - Temptation - #123-#126 SKIPPED EPISODES Press Your Luck - #676-#678 (also skipped by GSN)OTHER NOTES Classic Concentration ends fresh Buzzr is really marching through Press Your Luck. If my math serves me right, that's 40 fresh with only 12 episodes remaining from the GSN airings. We are getting real close to the 700's!!! If not by the end of this year, perhaps early '25 they will FINALLY see daylight. Only time will tell...

SCHEDULE CHANGESSuper Password replaces Password Plus + at 10pm Password Plus moves to 12AM Body Language moves to 1AM Blockbusters returns at 2AM Concentration (Narz) returns at 3AMTo Tell to Truth (Moore) adds on at 4AM What's My Line (SYN) returns at 5AM (Black & White episodes are off the schedule) I can only dream that my post on the BUZZR Facebook page a few weeks ago asking for the return of Blockbusters and Now You See It had some kind of impact. While NYSI didn't return, they did bring back another Narz show. Probably not, though. Most of us have some sort of idea on a “dream Buzzr schedule” but the consensus is that this was a great improvement over the B&W block which were episodes that were rerun before from the channel’s early years, as a side note there is already a dedicated What’s My Line archives channel over at Youtube with nearly the entire 1950-67 run. I’m in favor of seeing a little more variety on the schedule and that Supermarket Sweep, MG HS Hour and one hour of Match Game should receive the axe and be replaced with fresh episodes each of the 70’s Let’s Make a Deal, the Jim Perry run of Card Sharks and the syndicated Dawson run of Family Feud (the ABC run has been the main focus since the channel’s launch). For the weekend block, I’d add back fresh episodes of Child’s Play, Double Dare 76-77, Now You See It and the Narz run of Beat the Clock

If not by the end of this year, perhaps early '25 they will FINALLY see daylight. Only time will tell... Unfortunately both Buzzr and GSN have now skipped the episodes of 665-667 and 676-678 confirming that Fremantle has deemed the playback of their copies to be unairable for whatever reason. Parts of at least three of them can be found on Youtube over at MBK1997 at last check - 666 (nearly the entire episode), 667 (a 8 minute excerpt, Round 2 board and end credits) and 677 (a 9 minute excerpt, Round 1 board joined in progress, second question round and Round 2 board, no end credits with video in rough shape). Note that the numbering is off by one in the titles. Perhaps we can get better quality transfers of these episodes if another trader is able to upload them I’m still optimistic we will see the remaining 1986 episodes past 697 finally rerun on Buzzr

Thanks for this, dare2be ! It looks like CC will run all the way up to 1016 at the end of September before wrapping back to 1987 (God bless BUZZR for knowing and understanding that I officially start work at the start of October!). Now, what we really need is to find out roughly when they're coming to episode 1017 and 1023-1087. Also, today's episodes with Dina Goldstein have aired. Tomorrow we have the tie-breaker game in Episode 990 between her and Kevin Heine (brother of Karen from episodes 864-865). My money's on Dina; what say y'all? I say it's not really a tiebreaker.
IMHO, this is a just a leftover habit that Alex has from the best two-out-of-three era, when the actual tiebreakers were not even full games with prize-matching, but just puzzle reveals.
In any case, I don't have a preference in the match, I just want the winner to win enough prizes so that the $$ amount is announced.
Ah, I see. In fact Alex was using the term "tie-breaker" all the way till the end of the run. If Dina wins Game 1, she will have 65 seconds on the clock, making her the first such player in the Two Strikes 2.0 format to receive this accolade. Given her gameplay up till now, there's no reason why she wouldn't win this game at least, if not a car in the ensuing bonus game, so that Kevin can get his second X already. (NGL, I find Kevin a little annoying.) Also in Episode 1036 after the Game 2 bonus round, Alex tells Terri that he thought the longest time he had for a winner in the bonus round was "70 seconds ... and that person finally wound up winning a car" - this has not happened in the Two Strikes 2.0 format to date, and the way Alex put it sounded like he may have been referring to this particular format, it might be possible that Dina knocked Kevin out, didn't win a car in Game 1's bonus round with 65 seconds, then handed another player their first X in Game 2, then finally won a car in Game 2's bonus round with 70 seconds - hence fulfilling what Alex said to Terri in episode 1036. That's why I said my money's on Dina. But if for any reason I turn out to be wrong, I owe everybody here a dinner of your choice.

But contestants Madrid and Chuck earlier in the run had 75 seconds, and CHuck took 72 seconds to win his.

But contestants Madrid and Chuck earlier in the run had 75 seconds, and CHuck took 72 seconds to win his. Yes, I understand what you mean. While they may well have had 75 seconds each, I don't think Madrid or Chuck qualify - because they did not build up that time. What I'm saying is that Alex may have been referring primarily to the current Two Strikes 2.0 format. I quote: "The longest time we've had for any winner on Concentration was 70 seconds, and that person finally wound up winning a car." Note the stresses on "for any winner" and "finally". From his choice of words, it's possible that Alex may have been referring to one champion, one single player, who had played for a very long time (and hence built up his own Winner's Circle clock time), that one champion winning at least seven or eight main games before winning a car on either their seventh or eighth attempt, hence "finally". The video where Alex mentions this to Terri is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OmwmKrk7jI . Fast forward to 19:50 and you'll see it.

As much as I hate to say it I agree that Supermarket Sweep should leave the schedule for a while. Buzzr isn't showing fresh episodes of it. It has been over a year since the last fresh episode aired from the 1994/1995 season. If they don't air the remaining 25 episodes for whatever reason maybe instead of switching to the episodes from 2000 they bring back either the 1992-1993 episodes or episodes from 2001.

The unmarked episodes of Let's Make a Deal '84 that aired this morning were 001 and 003.

Remember how long it took Super Password to get fresh episodes? Yeah, it took more than a year to finally get fresh episodes for that once upon a time and yet remained on the schedule after all of that. You also don't want to forget that Buzzr didn't air the last 3 episodes of the first Double Your $$ Week, which wrapped up the taping cycle for the 7th overall season(the first season of the PAX revival) and the ONLY time that season ever used flashback intros of any kind. Hopefully, Buzzr airs those 3 episodes for a Black Friday marathon. We'll find out from Roland Taylor Jr., that the episode that aired on September 8, 2000 had the TV Mystery Product and also had the $2 Million reference in the opening banner. The episode that aired on August 16, 2000 had the Magazine Display.

We also noticed something, it was PAX's way to cheapened themselves whenever Supermarket Sweep had week-long tournaments, they bring back Mini-Sweep #2 but yanks the Bonus Sweep and the Snack Attack Movie Game was NEVER played in the PAX revival run, even in the episodes Buzzr skipped. The one thing that we're still praying to be uploaded is the cleaner copy of the main 1989 pilot theme with the segue, which became a mainstay to yank any chance of having their later theme music without the saxophone lead of being heard again except for a rare occasion where in the episodes that used the Seasons 1-4 back from commercial theme bed.

ivoryface86 I've seen Henry Hanson blame inflation for the main reason why some shows have stalled.

I agree with you there. Since 2017 it's been taking up literally an absolute majority of BUZZR's schedule from what I've seen (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, another hour from now till we see CC Episode 990 Game 1. Who are y'all bettin' on - Dina or Kevin?

ivoryface86 I've seen Henry Hanson blame inflation for the main reason why some shows have stalled. We've seen Super Password being one of the shows have stalled once. You think Buzzr had some shows being stalled, look at GameTV for the retro Fremantle shows and even Game Show Central. On GameTV, they rerun the same batch of episodes of retro Fremantle shows ad-nauseum for 2 years straight, yanks it off the schedule for awhile and then when it's back on the schedule, it's the exact same batch of episodes. With GSC, it was shocking that they acquired Family Feud on there when it's NOT supposed to be there on that channel and yet they only have the 2015-taped episodes acquired. That channel is supposed to be devoted to ONLY GSN Originals from either eons past or the Originals that debuted after GSN isn't publishing PDF schedules.
