Hey, so... This thread is stickied for a reason. Please read the following notice, because I will not go into your threads and tell you this again. Consider this your first verbal warning?
I've noticed that some of you don't put the rules of the game you've created in the thread opener. This, to me, is a turn-off. I'd like to know how the game works before I consider joining. Any time someone posts "I need X players" without any sort of hint as to how you're operating, I frown and a kitten dies. (Okay, a kitten doesn't die. But you know what I mean.)
Do I want an explanation regarding the rules in the thread opener? Of course. Am I a bad person for wanting it? No.
Please, be considerate about everyone on the board, and make some rules up to put in post #1. Because the last thing I want to see happen is someone bowing out when they find out that the game is too convoluted for their tastes after they've already joined.
If you have any questions, post them in this thread. Any staff member can explain further.

Guys - a lot of the posts lately have been "this is the champion, who wants to play against him/her".
Remember to either put the rules to the game in the thread opener, or at least give a courtesy call to others and link to a past rules post from an episode. I'm not telling you this again.

Does that also apply to "second" or "future" episodes as well?

Does that also apply to "second" or "future" episodes as well? I would say that in a best-case scenario, link to a past rules post somewhere for reference. But please add the rules for those who might want to join. I don't know if someone's version will be slightly different than the show proper... And then if I join a game and it seems too awkward, then I shouldn't have to complain about the format if I read the rules in advance.

All good, thanks for clarifying.

Still seeing this happening. Please read this thread before making threads. I might have to stop specific people from hosting games at this rate. I don't want that to happen, but it might have to come down to it.

I would assume that a number of players here (yourself included) are capable of understanding and remembering rules, especially when they're based on established formats.

Again, for those in the back - post some rules. I would assume that a number of players here (yourself included) are capable of understanding and remembering rules, especially when they're based on established formats. Fine line between playing a game in real life and playing a net game on a forum, especially when it's a lost game show.

Do people not realize that rules are important?
I'm looking at very certain people at this point. Do not make me tell you in the thread(s) you post that you're not paying attention to the sticky. Because everyone should be looking at this.

Are we allowed to post the rules to our own games in this thread? If so, I could start.

Are we allowed to post the rules to our own games in this thread? If so, I could start. That is not what I meant. People - and you can go into an individual's thread(s) to see for yourself - do not post the "how-to" in their opener. They just ask for players. I'm only suggesting that people either post the rules and forum-appropriate format in their post opener, or link to something from a past thread so nobody has to complain about the format after they've signed up to play. Also, I'm locking this thread so only staff members can post about the misfortunes of members.
