intothegrinder Where did you find the tape date for episodes 461-465? It's actually December 6, 1975. And I hate to say this, but the airdates you changed should be changed back. They do not match up with what Ian Wallis wrote. Sorry for repeating myself.

Just obtained eight more NY Metro TV Guides from 1976. Previous post updated.
I should note that Jack & Roxanne Carter, Albert & Roberta Salmi, Adam Wade & Vernee Watson were listed six times from May 3-7 and 10. It's not until May 12 that things were on track again. Guess TV Guide didn't take into account CBS Festival of the Lively Arts for Young People on April 13, and the Daytime Emmys on May 11.

The bad news is that I had to stop hunting for vintage TV Guides on eBay due to money concerns.
The good news is that Ian Wallis has helped me with a lot of 1976, and he will provide the other weeks tomorrow. Just updated.

Hope Ian Wallis can help you with the other years for us as well, 1977, '78, '83 and '84. Just wish we had the TV Guide for the week of April 19, 1976 though, who knows it could be another Bob & Ginny Newhart week there.

Though I haven't worked on the 1982-1984 version yet, I do believe these were the preemptions that version had.

Remind Daniel Benfield(aka WarioBarker) that the episode guide for the 1972-73 revival of I've Got A Secret is now complete, the VTR dates, special guests and everything thanks to Matt Ottinger. Now they, meaning Marshal Akers, etc. should work on the rest of the first reboot of To Tell The Truth, beginning with the 1974-75 season taping sessions and the central characters for each taped episode of the latter 4 seasons as well as the central characters for the 1980-81 reboot and the CBS Daytime counterpart of the original version from 1965-on. And somebody's gotta work on the Color What's My Line guide on the VTR dates, the panel for each week of Bruner's tenure and the Mystery Guests in which episode of the week they appeared in.

I think they're all busy with something else. I'm waiting for Buzzr to air more Bruner weeks until then. A 1980's background on Tattletales:
From 1982 to 1986, Guiding Light aired at 3:00 p.m., right before the second version of Tattletales, then later Body Language, then later Press Your Luck at 4:00 p.m. (Noon in New York City for those three shows). Below is a list of preemptions from after the 9,000th episode was celebrated. Notice how they seem to match up with the 10,000th episode celebration on September 18, 1986, confirming that PYL was preempted by the exact same things that year (it wouldn't make that much sense for the episode that was intended to air on 1/28 not get shown at all; it got shown on 1/29). With a couple of exceptions, the preemptions for it and Body Language in 1984 and 1985 are identical. I think the November 1982-January 1984 preemptions are almost assuredly identical to Tattletales', though I can't 100% confirm it.
November 25, 1982 (Football)
November 26, 1982 (College Football)
September 5, 1983 (U.S. Open Tennis)
September 9, 1983 (U.S. Open Tennis)
November 24, 1983 (Thanksgiving programming)
November 25, 1983 (College Football)
December 26, 1983 (Pro Football)
December 30, 1983 (Peach Bowl)
January 2, 1984 (Cotton Bowl)
September 3, 1984 (U.S. Open Tennis)
September 7, 1984 (U.S. Open Tennis)
November 22, 1984 (Pro Football)
November 23, 1984 (College Football)
December 25, 1984 (Blue-Gray All-Star Classic)
December 31, 1984 (Peach Bowl)
January 1, 1985 (Cotton Bowl)
January 21, 1985 (2nd Ronald Reagan Inauguration; The New $25,000 Pyramid, Press Your Luck, and Body Language aired in some markets)
May 27, 1985 (NBA)
August 1, 1985 (The 12th Annual Daytime Emmys; Body Language aired in some markets)
September 2, 1985 (U.S. Open Tennis)
September 6, 1985 (U.S. Open Tennis)
November 28, 1985 (Pro Football)
November 29, 1985 (College Football)
December 25, 1985 (College Football & Pro Basketball)
December 31, 1985 (Peach Bowl)
January 1, 1986 (Cotton Bowl)
January 28, 1986 (Challenger explosion)
May 26, 1986 (NBA)
September 1, 1986 (U.S. Open Tennis)
September 5, 1986 (U.S. Open Tennis)
Finally, here's how many episodes each year had from the 9,000th to 10,000th episodes for Guiding Light. I carefully checked every day in the L.A. Times and NY Daily News (the two biggest markets in America) in the newspaper archives.
October 8-December 31, 1982 = #09001-#09059 (59)
January 3-December 30, 1983 = #09060-#09313 (254)
January 1-December 31, 1984 = #09314-#09567 (254)
January 1-December 31, 1985 = #09568-#09818 (251)
January 1-September 18, 1986 = #09819-#10000 (182)
