Is there any available information on why Week 170 with Don Sutton, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Mary Wickes, Richard Dawson, and Fannie Flagg only had 4 episodes with it?

I was wondering the same thing, too. I haven't a clue. PM shows #057-#058 were taped in between CBS episodes #0848 and #0849.

My guess is that the producers realized they were a week behind in producing PM episodes, so they decided to do four daytime and two nighttime shows in that session rather than the usual five daytime and one nighttime. Since the daytime episodes didn't follow a Monday-through-Friday broadcast schedule, they could get away with it.
