Remember about ten years ago, when GSN was looking to make a new game show based on Scrabble? Remember when we learned it was to have been almost nothing like the cult-classic NBC series, but would have been much more faithful to the actual board game? Well, here it is. This is actually the first of at least two different takes on Scrabble that GSN commissioned; all I know about the second is that it was hosted by Kennedy ( Friend or Foe?) and used a different format. This one features John O'Hurley at the helm. Note that this is a "rough cut" of the show, in that it's lacking some effects (including a canned studio audience and some music stings) that would've been added in post-production. As a result, there are awkward silences at times in this video. Hopefully it won't distract too much from this curious footnote in the annals of GSN Originals. Complete in one part

Here's a little tidbit from Australia: Million Dollar Minute, the latest entry in the seven-figure-jackpot sweepstakes by the Seven Network. Any resemblance between this and another classic Aussie/US game show from two channels up the dial is purely intentional. Complete in one part

From the wonderful world of studio masters: Here, in its entirety, is the final episode of the Whoopi Goldberg era of Hollywood Squares from 2002... including all the stuff "too hot for TV," as the Jerry Springer PPV shows always used to say. There are easily about five minutes of this show that you never got to see on your local stations, for very good and obvious reasons, and this really gives you an appreciation for what you missed out on if you never attended a taping of a raucous, celebrity-driven game show. Full disclosure and warning: The contents of this video should be treated as TV-14 at the minimum, perhaps even reaching TV-MA levels at times. It features, at various points, explicit language, off-color humor, and a very naughty card, and none of it is edited or censored. If this sort of thing bothers you, then just move along to the next post and forget you ever saw this one. The all-cash, no prizes take on what was in the '80s and '90s the world's richest quiz, "Sale of the Century".

Merging the "YouTube finds" threads into one all-purpose thread. Have to bump this up so that it flows with the last post date.
