Okay, I know celebrities have to clear their episodes in order for the repeats to make it to television, but I want to know why some don't clear. Do they regret their appearance? Does their family disagree to show it (death), or are there other reasons? Examples, if you could.

Scott Vincent had a stick up his ass about being mentioned in a game. Does that count?

Do they regret their appearance? I remember reading years ago that Valerie Bertinelli didn't clear her Match Game appearances for this reason.

I think a good reason for certain celebrities refusing to clear his or her appearances is legal issues related to the show they appeared on. Models from TPIR who were/are in litigation are a good example. If a model from TPIR sues, and if she wins her lawsuit, the model may have to exercise her right to refuse to clear her appearances as per conditions of her lawsuit win in order to claim the money (in some cases), otherwise there would be consequences. If the model loses her lawsuit, that model will probably refuse to clear her appearances as a casualty for the producers who would be the winners. This may explain why Holly Hallstrom's appearances on TPIR will never see the light of day on TV again, though her appearances on syndicated Match Game and Ray Combs' Family Feud may still air if given the opportunity, unless something's changed.

That's a shame considering all of them were popular in the previous era

Actually some reports have stated the opposite. In one instance, that Bob Barker had a lot of control over what came out on that best of DVD set a few years back and that's why we didn't see any episodes with Holly or Dian as a part of the set.
Price still airing on CBS is the reason why GSN can't rerun it now.
Either way, it's unfortunate that the show has so much red tape surrounding it concerning reruns.

We did get one Dian episode on the DVD set. That was the one hour premiere from 1975.

Dian likely did appear on the first expanded broadcast from 1975, but I did hear from outside sources that she wore a brown wig instead of showing her true blondness. Maybe Bob wasn't aware that Dian was on the first one-hour broadcast because of the wig, otherwise he probably wouldn't have allowed it to appear on the DVD set. He may have thought it was Anitra Ford or something.

Nope, she looked blonde. Check YouTube for that episode. The only dark haired one was Anitra. Dian and Janice were blonde
