Okay, I'm gonna give hosting a game on here another try.
I'm doing The Joker's Wild, but I'm calling this the Nighttime Edition so as not to get confused with Ddavenport's edition. If you want to play his version, no problem. In fact, I suggest you give both his version and mine a try. I'm sure they will both be fun.
Also, I'm calling this the "Nighttime Edition" because the stakes are higher. Even though the main game plays the same, the questions are worth more. Also, there's a twist to the bonus round, which I'll explain when it comes up.
Okay, I need two players to start, but I'll take reserves as well!
1.
2.
Green Room.
Who wants to play?

(darkness on the set, both players at podiums with spotlights typical modern game show ominous music) VO: (very serious voice) Tonight, one of these players will win $5000, and a chance at cash and prizes, including a jackpot worth $25,000... (SFX: Record needle dragging, then suddenly The classic TJW theme starts up, and the lights suddenly come up revealing a revamped version of the classic set) VO: (suddenly sounding more upbeat) ... on the return of the game where Knowledge is King, and Lady Luck is Queen. It's VO: And now, here's the host of our show, Kaos! (enters, headed to his podium) Thank you Gary. Welcome, everyone to The Joker's Wild. We have two contestants ready to win big money and big prizes. Gary would you introduce them please? Gary: Sure, Kaos. First up, we have Mikedodgers (applause), and his opponent, Manekineko. (applause) Thanks again, Gary... (fast froward through the small talk) Okay, here are the categories you two will be playing with on this game, they are: History Geography Human Nature TV and Radio Science and Sports & Games Incidentally, we're welcoming several new stations here on The Joker's Wild, so just for a moment if you'll forgive me, I'd like to reiterate some of the rules for those of you who are watching for the first time. As you know, the players spin those reels up there, and all kinds of categories come up on them. If they answer a single category they get $500, if they make a pair they can play for $1000, if they get three of a kind, they're playing for $2000. The Jokers are wild and can be played with any category. $5000 wins the game, and the winner will get to play a bonus game for more money and prizes as well. (For the benefit of those online, I'll give a deadline of about 48 hours to answer, if you don't answer by then, you'll get buzzed for timing out. Also, even though I'm telling you to spin, I'll handle the spin part on your behalf, just to speed things up a bit. Okay?) Okay, since we have two new players, we tossed a coin backstage. Unfortunately, a Whammy stole the coin, so we tossed the Whammy. Mike won the toss and chose to go first. Go ahead and take your spin. (Mike Spins, with the classic spinning SFX) |Sports & Games| |Geography| |Sports & Games| Okay we have Sports and Games, Geography, and a pair. What'll it be Mike?

*looks around for someone named Pat, seeing no he shrugs*
Okay, for $1000, Mike...
What chess pieces can take each other en passant?
(incidentally, I didn't care for Pat's version. This was meant to be like Jack's...)

Joker, JOKER, JOKER!!!
(crowd going wild)
Well, who would have thought this would happen? Well, Neko, here's the deal. You pick a category, ande if you get the question right, you win the game right then and there. Miss it, and the game goes on as before.
Neko, pick a category, please.
((Note: I actually have a TJW set up with reels and categories, and I use that to determine the spins, for this and any bonus rounds. I am not playing favorites here.))
