When I'm watching Catch-21 every morning I noticed that Merrill-Heatter Productions produced it and i'm shocked because I thought Merrill-Heatter Productions had gone out of business after the original Heatter-Quigley company produced Hollywood Squares in the 80's but then I noticed that Scott Sternberg created Catch 21 and that his company Scott Sternberg Productions coproduced Catch-21 as well, Did Scott Sternberg buy Merrill-Heatter Productions? I find this a surprise because Merrill-Heatter was a big production company of game show classics of the day, Kelsey

The remaining classic shows by Heatter-Quigley and the revivals and newer shows from the 1980's that Heatter produced himself are now owned by MGM.
Scott Sternberg simply co-executive produced Catch 21 with Merrill Heatter.

For the record, the last show to carry the full Heatter-Quigley production credit was Las Vegas Gambit in 1981. About a year later, Battlestars became the first solo outing for Merrill Heatter, while the short-lived 1989 syndie The Last Word was MHP's swan song.
MGM owns H-Q/MHP through a series of '80s consolidations; at some point MGM acquired Filmways, the parent company of H-Q, and apparently MHP was seen as a continuation of H-Q rather than a new company altogether. Quite honestly, I don't think even they know they own the library (or more accurately, what's left of the library); game shows aren't exactly a priority over in Lionland.

MGM? The same MGM Studios that owned Disney MGM Studios {Now Disney's Hollywood Studios} theme park at Walt Disney World owns Merrill-Heatter Productions too. That's a very interesting fact to know about game shows. I know MGM is such a wonderful movie company and I never knew that they owned the rights to game shows back in the day. Thanks for your wonderful knowledge TheKid965 you really fill the world with your amazing knowledge, Kelsey
