The following is a Game Show Paradise public service announcement.
Here at GSP, we strive to be one big happy family. We expect our posters to abide by what we feel is a simple code of conduct: To respect the opinions of others, even if you personally disagree with them; to not comment on potentially incendiary issues such as race, religion, or politics; and to not launch personal attacks on someone, especially not other users. (You did read the Rules before signing up, didn't you?)
However, we also understand that this is the real world of the Internet, and as such, this is not always going to be possible. To that end, we have created a special section of GSP where you have more or less free reign to do as you please, say whatever's on your mind, and get whatever's bugging you off your chest without fear of reprisal from an admin. It's called the Debate Board, and within its walls the gloves are taken off and it's a no-holds-barred environment.
The Debate Board is located in the Off-Topic section. It is password-protected so that an unwary soul doesn't accidentally wander into the danger zone; if you need the password, PM one of the admins with a request and we'll supply it to you with no strings attached. (Well... maybe one string. All we ask is that you not disclose the password yourself once it's given to you. That's our job.)
In the past the Debate board has been something of a wasteland, with not too many people using it for its intended purpose, or indeed even at all. That is about to change. Going forward, the use of the Debate board will be enforced by the GSP staff if we feel a discussion is starting to get out of hand, or treading in dangerous territory. Simply put, if an admin is asking you to take something to the Debate board, you NEED to take it there. Or, alternatively, drop the discussion right then and there. Failure to comply can, and will, result in appropriate disciplinary action being taken as outlined in the Rules post.
We don't want to be hardliners about these things, and indeed the reason the Debate board even exists is because we wanted to provide you with a section where you could blow off whatever steam you have to blow off. It's there for a reason and it serves a useful function. In return, we only ask that you observe a policy of "treat others the way you expect to be treated yourself" in all other GSP forums and threads.
This has been a Game Show Paradise public service announcement. We now resume your regularly scheduled message board, already in progress.
