This morning I saw the debut episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Terry Crews and I can tell you that I think Millionaire made a wise move this season and now for your pleasure a short recap to help you get to know more about this new season of Millionaire, Terry Crews's Millionaire debut episode began with Terry introducing himself to us and gave us fans some info on what he does. Then we saw the first contestant by the name of Kate Leonard who did amazingly and with smart skills showed her stuff Also new to this season are some changes to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and they are as follows, 1. Terry Crews now stands at a counter-like podium while Dennis {The Question Board} is on the big screen now, 2. Is That Your Final Answer has now been replaced by Are You Sure?, 3. A brand-new never before seen Lifeline has now been added named Ask 1 replacing the second Jump The Question Lifeline. For those who are curious about this new Lifeline how Ask 1 works is that contestants can choose one family member to ask for help on a question only once, In my eyes I think Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has worked it's magic and with Terry Crews as the new star he will show a whole new fun side to Millionaire. I would've seen the whole episode today but I had to go eat breakfast but it's really cool, What did you think of Terry Crews's Millionaire debut?, Kelsey

One other thing I noticed is that they no longer give out the categories as to the questions.

Terry's not bad IMO. A step up from Cedric. As far as the new set changes go, they might as well just bring back the chairs at this point.

The last thing I wanted to mention is that as I predicted, Terry would be intense at times. I mean, he doesn't just say "Let's play Millionaire!" like Meredith and Cedric did. He goes: (Note, spoilerboxed because of big words, for the sake of those who don't care for them) LET'S PLAY MILLIONAIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the show with Terry Crews for the first time yesterday. He's not a bad host, hes pretty funny. That "Plus 1" lifeline is interesting. I mean, in the old days of Millionaire they used to show the contestant's companions in the audience, it seems like they haven't done it for years until now, when they added the "Plus 1" lifeline. And ladykelsey maybe I tuned in late, well a minute late I believe, and: 1. I never saw Dennis. I couldn't have tuned in that late. Unless he was just on the first episode. 2. Terry still asks "Final Answer", at least he did yesterday, or the contestant said "Final". Although "Are You Sure?" isn't uncommon on the show. Regis has asked that before followed by "Final Answer?" I think. Meredith has, I think. I don't know about Cedric, he probably has. 3. That new lifeline is called "Plus 1". It's been in the game show news for awhile, including here. 4. I thought I saw the categories shuffled when I watched yesterday. You seem to like every host, ladykelsey. I'm not overly excited about new hosts or any changes to things like you are. I may like em' or dislike em' but I'm not that excited like you. Not that theres anything wrong with that. I don't have a problem with Terry Crews either. Who knows how long Terry Crews will host this show though, if long at all.

The very early ratings aren't good for Terry. He did okay in a few places, but the overall national numbers for Nielsen's metered markets were down for the first two days. TV News Check has the bad news... "Disney-ABC game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire began its first season with new host Terry Crews with solid ratings in a few top markets while generating a national 1.0 household rating and 3 share in metered markets for its first two days. That was down 23% from its time slots last September, based on Nielsen metered-market ratings." We won't get Terry's first weekly national numbers until next Tuesday, September 23, at the earliest. The latest published week, August 25-31, showed a 1.9 national household rating for Cedric's second-last week of reruns. If Terry declines from that already so-so (at best) number, syndie Millionaire could be in real trouble. But it's still early days. We'll see what happens. By the way, I gave Terry a mostly positive review on Game Show Follies. I like his energy, but that wild-eyed look gets a little weird when he yells "Let's play Millionaire."

Finally got my first chance to see Millionaire in over a year and a half (I completely missed out on the Cedric era), and I'm forced to concede: Terry Crews is one of those hosts I wasn't expecting anything from, but he's actually pretty good -- no Regis to be sure, but probably better than Meredith (especially near the end of her run when it was obvious she was just cashing her checks). Unfortunately I can't compare him to Cedric.
He's funny, energetic (maybe too much so), and seems to do a good job with the contestant interaction. I can see the "intense" gimmick getting old in a hurry, but other than that I've nothing bad to say. This could work out yet.

Trust me, if you ever saw Cedric's "It's Worth WHAT?", then you know what he was like on Milllionaire.
Thankfully, he didn't ask if the players were "Sure Sure"

As I said in my previous post, I gave Terry a generally good review on Game Show Follies, but sometimes he's too hyper IMO. But who cares about my opinion? The people who really count (literally) are at the Nielsen Company. In his first week, Terry got a 2.0 household rating. So-so at best, though an improvement on Cedric's final reruns. We'll see if he can build the ratings. As things stand, he's way behind Wheel, Jeopardy and Feud. They were all in the fives for the week, and they were still in reruns.

This new audience game on Millionaire is... interesting. Reminds me a bit of Who's Who on What's My Line.
I do agree that Terry could stand to tone it down a bit. Other than that I think he's doing a great job.

If a game show host is ever too loud for anyone, turn down the volume!

A new host always takes a bit to get used to, but I like Terry Crews all right. But I think the ratings will take a jump when Ken Jennings is on. youtu.be/okRc4sMKGXE

I think the ratings will stay the same. A show like Millionaire that's on all different time slots throughout the country, morning, afternoon, evening, middle of the night.
Chances are, if people won't watch it regularly, they won't watch it at all. Casual viewers might, but the ones who don't watch at all, most likely won't. If that makes sense.
If I were to predict, I'd say it could go up to its old 2.0 or 2.1 rating, which would be higher than it has been.
