Also, based on last night's episode, there is no break in the Jeopardy round. Similar to the GOAT special. I had a feeling that was happening after I checked a little bit of it out.

After several episodes hosted by Mayim that threatened a tiebreaker, we finally have one in the college tourney

Alex and Merv are turning over in their graves with the new rules to the tourney This is not the first tourney where the top three scorers in four games moved onto the finals. There was a one week Teen reunion tourney in November 1998 that had 12 players over the first four days, and the top three scorers among the winners played in the one day final on Friday.

One thing I am finding a bit off during the National College Tournament is the lack of a transition from MB chatting with the contestants to reading the categories at the beginning Double Jeopardy. When the single Jeopardy round starts, there are sound effects as the dollar amounts fill in, which serves as a nice transition from MB's opening remarks into reading the categories. It feels like the same transition should happen at the start Double Jeopardy.
Edited to add: During the "regular" Jeopardy shows, Double Jeopardy begins immediately after a commercial break, and there is music playing immediately before the host gives the categories.

I had a feeling based on the ad for last night's show that it was bound to happen.

That's why they put the date in the top left corner of the screen. Obviously, the episode was filmed months before Russia is doing what they're doing (and that's as far as I'm going to go with that). But you'd probably have people who would think that it was a more recent filming, so they had to throw that "disclaimer" on there.

But you'd probably have people who would think that it was a more recent filming, so they had to throw that "disclaimer" on there. The geography based kids Game Show "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego" from the early nineties had to add a disclaimer "All Geographic Information was Correct at the time of Recording" as the upheaval in the world could lead to unanticipated inaccuracies by the time a particular show aired.

I think they had to do something similar with the 9/11 attacks

Hello Everyone,
As I'm sure you're all aware, "Jeopardy!" (and its many fans) mourned the loss in November 2020 of Alex Trebek 20 months after he revealed his Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis.
In the months and year-plus that followed, the producers have found it difficult to put it mildly to find a new Permanent Successor for Alex, and though Mike Richards (then-Exec Producer) initially was announced as such, he soon Abruptly Resigned after ONE Week of Taping in a Single Day and was later Ousted last Fall as Showrunner of both "Wheel" & "Jeopardy!" by Sony.
In the Interim, former "Jeopardy!" champ Ken Jennings and actress Mayim Bialik began Rotating for the Remainder of Season 38, scheduled to end on July 29, 2022, with Ken hosting Regular Games & Mayim hosting Tournament and Spin-Off Games.
Without further ado, I personally have TWO Predictions for the future of "Jeopardy!" for Fall 2022 AND Beyond.
My first, and Hopeful Prediction, is that Ken Jennings becomes Alex's permanent "Jeopardy!" successor, and that "Jeopardy!" will continue to enlighten, educate AND inform viewers for many more years to come.
My second, and Alternate Prediction, is that Mayim Bialik will get her wish after May 6 and become permanent "Jeopardy!" host; IF that happens, I predict that "Jeopardy!" ratings will rapidly Decline, and within a year, "Jeopardy!," after 39 years, will Sign Off Permanently into the Sunset into Rerun Heaven.
In any case, I pray that I'm correct more about Ken than I am about Mayim; I also pray that I'm wrong about "Jeopardy!" ratings Declining and the show becoming Over IF Mayim becomes Permanent Successor.
Either way, Stay Tuned!!!

I haven't watched since the Mike Richards debacle, which happened after Claire McNear wrote her article on him. It was too much for me.

This thread might be best suited as a merge into the AP-Jeopardy thread, but that's just me. What do others think?
