Now, are these numbers just for people who tuned into the show and stayed with the show? The Nielsen ratings average out every minute, or every quarter (15 minutes) per broadcast for the program-long ratings. In other words, it's who stayed with the show for the hour.

In other words, it's who stayed with the show for the hour. Okay, thanks. So there could have been more people who tuned in at some time throughout, and just didn't like it.

This show didn't interest me after watching the first 10 minutes. Doesn't help that all the questions were true/false, my least favorite type of question. Seriously, I always find those kind of questions to be very dumb. I don't think true/false questions are a legit way to educate people. Multiple choice and fill in the blank are the way to go.

Why so hostile? True/false questions really are stupid. I was agreeing with you on that point. I think the "quote" really said it all.

Terrible by GSN's historical standards for GSN Originals. My blog review pretty much summed it up, but this was just me talking, mostly. Once upon a time, those would be fair numbers for GSN. I think you mean "terrible by GSN's recent standards for GSN Originals". Maybe? Correct.

Boy, the revolution of rising expectations has hit GSN. Not long ago the ratings for The Line would have been considered far from terrible for a network original. Nowadays, the numbers are so-so.
The show seems to have already worn out its welcome at the network, anyway. It's disappeared without a trace and I haven't heard about any plans to tape more eps.

The show seems to have already worn out its welcome at the network, anyway. It's disappeared without a trace and I haven't heard about any plans to tape more eps. American Bible Challenge started to push the "rising expectations" and The Chase continues to push them. If more episodes were to come along, The Line would have been tapped as an original series rather than a 2-hour special. I think we all know anyway by now that the remaining cities for The Line were used for Baggage On The Road.

"I think we all know anyway by now that the remaining cities for The Line were used for Baggage On The Road."
Alex Davis first floated that theory, then it got picked up by Scott Rahner (who I think is "gsnnadmin"). Who knows if the theory's true? My guess is that GSN execs just figured The Line had no chance and looked elsewhere for a new original in the winter months. But my guess is worth exactly what it's costing you to read it.
