In 1989 American Movie Classics {Also known as AMC now} debuted it's first and only game show called The Movie Masters and was hosted by veteran game show host Peter Marshall and featured players testing their classic movie knowledge with a celebrity panel starring in each episode. Although short lived The Movie Masters is one of the most underrated movie trivia games of the 80's, Kelsey

One correction, Kelsey: The Movie Masters was hosted by Gene Rayburn (his final series), not Peter Marshall.
Your typical low-budget, late-'80s/early-'90s cable game show, although it did have some genre heavyweights as regulars on the panel -- namely, Peggy Cass and Kitty Carlisle. Never saw an episode myself, but I'm curious.

Thanks for your correction TheKid965 I read about The Movie Masters in my favorite trusty game show encyclopedia and I never realized that American Movie Classics had a game show until I discovered info on The Movie Masters and I never knew that it was Gene Rayburn's swan song from game shows. I guess I confused The Movie Masters with The Reel To Reel Picture Show when I wrote Peter Marshall in the topic. But The Movie Masters sounds like a cool game that Mom and I would like because next to game shows we love classic movies, Thank you very much my dear, Kelsey

I have an episode of the show in my collection. It's inoffensive low-budget game show fare. Nothing to write home about but nothing that's outright awful. If you love movies/pop culture it's definitely well worth a watch or a few.
A full episode is available on YouTube if anyone is curious:
