When I started watching Whammy as the first GSN show I really got into watching I thought it was a cool remake of Press Your Luck and the Double Whammies were so neat and added fun to the show but as I liked the show I soon realized that Whammy might inspire kids and toddlers to throw things and cause bad behavior as they grew up. Because I know that children {Especially toddlers when they have temper tantrums love throwing things} and learning bad behavior from cartoons and kids TV shows. I'm surprised that when Whammy The-All New Press Your Luck debuted GSN didn't have parents complaining about how the Double Whammies taught kids how to throw things and do things that kids should not be doing. Now if you were a parent would you let your kids watch Whammy reruns because I think that it inspires kids to do bad behavior and do bad habits, Does anyone let their children watch Whammy reruns on GSN and what's your take on this topic?, Kelsey

As much as I love Press Your Luck, if I had kids, I would never allow my kids to watch such show or its revivals until their age is in the double digits (or late in their 9th year, but not any earlier). Cartoons are bad enough, and I can see a good reason why Saturday morning cartoons are no longer seen on the Big Three networks now (though such reason wasn't intentional on the networks' part). Not to mention that cartoons can stimulate hyperactivity in kids if they watch it at a young enough age, plus kids at an early enough age can easily mimic quotations from the Whammies themselves.
If I had kids, and wanted my fix for Press Your Luck, I would record it and only watch it in my bedroom when my kids are already in bed. Such show should be treated in the same category as Looney Tunes.

Not to mention that cartoons can stimulate hyperactivity in kids if they watch it at a young enough age, plus kids at an early enough age can easily mimic quotations from the Whammies themselves. Three-year-old me says the statement in bold isn't always accurate. I've made it known that I watched the USA run all over the internet, pretty much. I never repeated phrases. I loved the Whammies, yes. But not once did I "mimic" the quotes. Coming from someone who read the newspaper in front of the family at the same age, this says a lot. You make it sound like PYL is like porn. It's not safe for kids. I would definitely let my future children watch the show, providing I'd be somewhat-responsible and teach them that not everything that the Whammies do is appropriate for people on the planet to do.

Yes. Seriously, I doubt anybody's mind has been corrupted or whatever just solely by some fun luck-based game show with cartoons in it.
And cardsharksfan... a bit over-cautious, really.

Yeah I can't agree with this at all. PYL is one of the most harmless shows I have ever watched.
Not to mention the Whammies themselves largely really came to be parodies of pop culture. I wasn't a fan of Whammy! as a revival, but I did like how with the animations they basically did the same thing (Osbourne Whammy, boy-band Whammies, Weakest Link Whammy), etc. Nothing dangerous can come out of that.
And as far as people imitating what the Whammies say... that'd be no different than when people walked around imitating Regis in Millionaire's heyday saying "Is that your final answer?" or saying "You are the weakest link, good bye!" all the time when that show was on. If anything, it'd just get annoying after a while. No real harm done.
I can only imagine how many millions of kids grew up watching the show either on CBS, USA, or GSN.... and turned out just fine.

We all grew up on Looney Tunes and no one wants to imitate some of the stuff that Wile E. Coyote did trying to catch the Road Runner.
You can let your kids watch it but say something like "The Whammy is bad and don't do what he does".

Of course I'd let my children (If I had any) watch it. Heck i'd even show it to them. Of course if they started stealing money there'd be a problem.
And yeah I'd let them watch (if i had any) Looney Toons. There are several worse programs I would not expose anyone to.

I do agree with Neko, and I DID watch a lot of Looney Toons, but my parents taught me to know right and wrong.
Parents blame the media just because they don't want to accept their OWN responsibility for what happened.
By the way, I also grew watching game shows since I was a toddler.

When I used to watch Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck I found an episode with contestants named Matt Pamela and Kelsey {my name} and I was so surprised to see a game show contestant with my name and I found it amazing that there was a Kelsey on Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck that played so well. Do you remember this episode of Whammy? I think it would be awesome to see this episode again just to hear my name being mentioned a lot, Was there really a player named Kelsey that played on Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck?, Kelsey

I recently read in the other game show book I have that Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck was going to have Season 3 but instead was cancelled and I want to know if the story is true? Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck was the first show that made me a GSN watcher and I'm always curious to know more stories about Whammy, Kelsey

If I remember right, Season 3 was scrapped when they rebranded in 2004. As was Season 3 for Russian Roulette.
Of course, Whammy has never left the schedule since its debut.

Oh so that's the story of why Season 3 of Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck never existed. Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck was such an awesome show and Todd Newton was so cool and funny and every episode I saw of Whammy I thought Todd Newton was so handsome and so cute. I think Whammy The All-New Press Your Luck needs a revival on GSN because it's awesome, Great story Chameleonwhammy and thank you very much for replying, Kelsey

It's stupid though, just because they rebranded. Lingo lasted from 2002 until 2007 on GSN, that was a big hit, but obviously Whammy did well enough to retain staying power. Now its just old to me. I've practically seen all the episodes, I don't feel like reliving it. Those whammies got old, I was glad when they brought back the original PYL.
GSNs schedule consists of a bunch of reruns that still do well, excluding the classics, classics like Match Game never get old. Now I know why most of my GSN watching is recorded classics (ie, Match Game), or new epidodes of the originals (The Chase, Bible)
In 2008/2009 GSN did bring back Friend or Foe and Russian Roulette. I'm not sure how they did in the ratings though.
