Another thing is the fronts of the podiums had received a gold coat of paint somewhere during July-August 1983.
If I knew what the cash jackpot was, I might be able to verify the airdate. David Rogers claimed it on the April 11, 1984 episode at $109,000, the largest jackpot ever on this run.

This episode did make the Youtube rounds a few years ago as it aired on GSN in Fall 1997 during the Goodson-less(outside of TPIR and Feud 1994-95) Dark Period.

The closing to a 1973 episode of The New Treasure Hunt is shown in this video:
OVS seems to be a gold mine when it comes to including clips of otherwise missing game show episodes.

And this whole Tournament reran on GSN after the Goodson game show library returned, both on weekend and weekday rotation, also this Tournament were the first episodes to rerun during the 1984 Choice Shows reruns, that season premiere episode would first get rerun when CBN began airing it on September 30, 1985 so for some reason, the 1000th episode wasn't among the 1984 Choice Shows reruns either.

The weeks of the 1983-84 season leading up to the tourney did have the Dragon Finder game after the bonus games which were won, which was not played during the TofC and wasn't played again after the TofC. IIRC the Summer 1984 reruns started either with the TofC or just after the TofC, going from 40 year old memory. Perhaps they didn't want to show the Dragon Finder game in Summer reruns. That season did not have any six figure winners, and players only could keep $50K because of Tic airing on WCBS and they had to abide by CBS rules because of that(WCBS airing Joker from Fall 1981-Fall 1984 forced Joe Dunn to retire but he could keep $50K). Tic never retired any players that season after they hit $50K, including Joan Diaz and Rex Schultz. The 1000th episode was five weeks into the 1983-84 season, and the TofC started with either episode 41 or 46 of the season

TJW did the same thing for their 1984 Choice Shows reruns, which that the Choice Shows reruns there didn't begin with the debuts of both Stumpers and the NTJ so Ed Coyne's TJW episodes did appear in the Choice Shows reruns.

This will be premiering soon. I think it's the same one in which only the intro was posted years ago. John said there was no Dragon during the Bonus Round in the Pilot, just stopping the X's or O's randomly.

The April 30, 1985 episode of Scrabble with the dreaded spelling format. The week of 4/8-4/12/1985 when Amy Albani Schultz won the last of her nine Sprint rounds had the non-spelling format. The sprint champion opening the show had four wins under her belt, So the spelling format was at most in its second week on 4/30.

Here is just a sampling of what's coming soon to Wink's Channel.
Since it can be confirmed that that day's High Rollers from 7/3/75 was #257, I think these were how the preemptions went up to that point:
July 26, 1974 (House Judiciary Committee on the Impeachment of President Nixon)
July 30, 1974 (House Judiciary Committee on the Impeachment of President Nixon)
October 17, 1974 (President Ford's testimony on Nixon pardon)
November 15, 1974 (Senate Hearings on Confirmation of Nelson Rockefeller as Vice President)
November 28, 1974 (Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade)
January 1, 1975 (Rose Bowl Parade)
March 26, 1975 (Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's Press Conference)
