Wink's suit on that episode is actually louder than the set!! Lmao.
I'm so glad that we got to see this episode. Kudos to everyone who runs the channel. I wish more of this version were available. I tend to like it a bit more than Las Vegas Gambit.

And another episode has been posted... this time taped in late 1977:

The more I see it, the more I'm really enjoying this version of the show. Also on a side note, it's interesting hearing all those Price is Right cues on a different show.

There's more on the way, apparently; four additional Gambits have been unearthed, two original and two Las Vegas episodes (the latter would seem to feature the High Rollers endgame). Here's a sneak peek.

As an FYI, all these "Wink's Vault" threads will soon be merged. Just a heads-up. In the meantime, here are two goodies for you. The first one is Matchmates, a 1987 Reg Grundy pilot for NBC starring Michael Burger. It's not even half bad, actually; this one appears to have been a victim of NBC wanting to limit its shows more than anything else (the timeslot this was hoping for was instead given to Facts of Life reruns). Be sure to check this out on its YouTube page for some recollections from Michael Burger himself. (And now you know where the Winner's Big Money Game came from...) Goodie #2 comes to us from the promotions department of Mark Goodson Productions in 1994. This is what's known as a "sizzle reel" for Cash Tornado, MGP's attempt to license a format for use with state lotteries. In other words, Illinois Instant Riche$ and its various clones that Johnathan Goodson produced. Jim Perry hosts... and if you think the set looks familiar, wait'll you see our first "contestant!" ;^D

I think I merged them all. Let me know if there are other threads.

You thought Powerball and Big Spin were the only lottery game shows? Winker brings us a Pitch tape from one you probably never heard of. I am digging the set though.

I just find it ironic that a MG production took a cue from a Monty Hall show

▲ Given that so much in this demo/run-through was a placeholder for a client state lottery to insert their own trademarks, I suspect "Zonk" also fell into that category.

They did get in trouble with Barry & Enright for Check Game's original name on Price is Right being called Blank Check in the 1980's (even though the show Blank Check itself was an ill-recieved 6-month bomb), so it is a bit surprising to me that they'd do something like that in the future with a more popular term from another company. Maybe they didn't think it'd matter since it was just a sizzle reel?
Jim Perry was great as a host as always. Wish he did more after Sale.

Awesome! Can't wait to see what he'll have for us next. Well, here you go, then. I've got TWO for you this time. First off, The Mad Dash, a Canadian game show that played similar to the 1960's classic, Video Village. Also, just released today, The Big Game, which featured the debut of legendary game show host Tom Kennedy! Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Tomorrow we will apparently see the full Puzzlers pilot. You might know Puzzlers better as the pilot a rather unknown Pat Sajak did for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman in 1980. Thursday is another real treat, an original broadcast of the Gambit finale from 1976. Great week to be a game show fan!!

I am so there for the last one on that list. I have an almost perverse fascination with finales. ^^;

I just watched the Puzzlers pilot. I personally enjoyed it. Too bad it didn't sell.
