I didn't know we were an "oldies board" as he likes to call it. I'm all for new and old as long as the shows are good.
For the record Casey because I know you'll read this, I like GSN. I think most people here do. Not everyone here hates the channel like you claim we do. We just don't like some of their choices like the overabundance of Steve Harvey's Family Feud. Not everyone wants to sit through six consecutive hours of that show. I'll admit, I don't think it's a bad show. In fact, if nothing of interest is on and if I'm not busy, I'll actually tune in. An hour at most, but no more than that. That doesn't happen often though. Just something to kill the time. Still, I maintain my gripes about the show and you can look around for yourself. You love this board so much, I'll let you look for my complaints (and others as well). GSN could be doing better when it comes to scheduling, especially in the evening and late hours. Put shows like Idiotest and Emogenius back on there. Heck, put American Bible Challenge in one of those late evening hour slots. I think that would work out well. Insert something in one of those slots that isn't Harvey Feud. I get that this show brings in ratings and I really don't understand why, but eventually people are gonna get tired of the same thing being played every day. To GSN, I say try something new. It doesn't hurt to try and if it fails, then I guess go back to Harvey as much as it pains me to say it.
Long story short, I prefer variety over repetition when it comes to GSN. I think variety (both old and new) is best for the schedule and sadly, GSN's lacking in this regard. It's quickly become the Steve Harvey Network. I'm actually surprised that the channel hasn't been renamed yet.

I remember Casey attacked you for thinking Toddlers and Tiaras was coming to GSN.
But can anyone really blame you? The promos were very misleading.

!!! Oh my gosh !!! Family Feud is gonna replace The Chase? I am so saddened at this news because even though The Chase is cancelled I occasionally sometimes still watch The Chase reruns while waiting for Let's Make A Deal. I wonder if GSN will still have Cash Cab on weekends because I look forward to seeing Ben Bailey every Saturday morning and if Ben is gone I will be upset as well Kelsey

I noticed Challenge TV over in the UK just mentioned that they're airing the US version of The Chase. It's ironic that they do this as GSN, its home network, removes it. I am a wizard. Casey... who again?

I wonder if GSN will still have Cash Cab on weekends Please read posts from others. Not once did anyone say that Cash Cab is in any sort of trouble. Also, for everyone: Casey's reply to Tvfan26. Regarding the part in bold? I didn't know that meant something like... "Mommy! The kids were mean to me at school!"

Well, I suppose we can thank him for all the attention, and vice versa. Any publicity is good publicity, right? (Well, maybe not entirely, but we're not talking about racist tweets here.)

I love how Casey keeps bringing up us going off on GSN because we thought they were acquiring Toddlers and Tiaras. If anyone should let it go, it's him.

I'm convinced Casey grew up eating paint chips as a kid and downed them with Clorox.

Forgot to mention: It's well documented how GSN tried to get stuff like, say, Concentration from NBC. But they were unable to.
Yet here he is, claiming, "Oh, it's just an Interweb legend. They don't really care or even know about Concentration".

Forgot to mention: It's well documented how GSN tried to get stuff like, say, Concentration from NBC. But they were unable to. Is it? I'd like to see for myself. I've always been curious about that and have always heard that that was the story, but had no idea there was actually documented evidence. Would love to see!!

It's not an urban legend though that Barry & Enright was originally behind Concentration, and as soon as the quiz show scandals happened, NBC snatched up any remaining control because they didn't want to lose a hit show that didn't have any rigging baggage associated with it. Also that the original Concentration was produced by NBC in-house from the beginning. It's been mentioned in previous forum discussion that a company like Goodson-Todman may have just simply produced the show for NBC by the time Classic Concentration came around. While that sounds logical, that doesn't explain any possible rights issues about the 1970's syndication run, which was syndicated by Jim Victory Television and wasn't filmed at NBC studios.
I wish they'd just let GSN or Buzzr air the show if NBC still does have exclusive rights to it. Just work out some kind of deal or something. Any available reruns are just sitting in a vault collecting dust and it's not like there's a reboot on the horizon (or at least one that we know of).
