This current Match Game lease should only be for episodes 920 thru 1215. I'll be good as long as this lease goes to at least 1140, as I have the 1141-1215 episodes from Buzzr, which are more complete (less cuts and no credit crunches).

I just wonder how long this will last. Did GSN lose the rights to O'Hurley Feud and are putting something like Match Game in its place for a while? Match Game seems like a really random pick, though I don't mind it. It's better than seeing another block of Harvey Feud for sure.

Thanks to Buzzr and GSN you can now watch Match Game eight hours a day on weekdays (all times Eastern)...
2:00AM-4:00AM Buzzr 8:00AM-9:00AM GSN 10:00AM-12:00PM Buzzr 1:00PM-2:00PM GSN 4:00PM-6:00PM Buzzr
It's my favorite game show ever and that includes everything. But talk about overkill. This almost makes Harvey Feud look sparingly used on GSN. By the way, this Match Game schedule survives the shakeup on Buzzr starting February 6. [Corrected the GSN times to Eastern.]

Harvey Feud > sparingly used
Hahaha, no. Nice try. I know you're popular for posting some questionable stuff, but come on now. Harvey Feud is airing from 6pm to 2am tonight before Divided reruns come on at 2am. If that's not overkill, I don't know what is. Let's not forget the weekends either. It's worse there. I for one welcome Match Game getting some more love. It surprised me for sure, but I'll take it and I'm sure others will too. I'm just thankful those slots didn't get Harvey Feud.

Wow, never expected to see a pre-1990 show turn up in the afternoon again. Maybe GSN figures that the new version is raising interest in the old one.

Check the weekday schedules for both networks. Harvey Feud runs 31 hours on GSN, Match Game runs 40 hours on Buzzr/GSN. On weekdays the MG overkill does make Harvey Feud look almost (you missed the humor) sparingly used.
I'll admit that Harvey Feud catches up on the weekend when GSN doesn't use MG and Buzzr cuts back very slightly on the show (though Match Game still gets 11 hours on the diginet). And I shouldn't say this because the usual suspects will squawk, but at least we won't hear constant complaints about MG overkill from the game show Interwebs...like we do about Harvey Feud. We can be grateful for that.

You gotta keep in mind not everyone can watch Buzzr. I'm one of those people.

This is likely a temporary (a few weeks) placeholder until another lease is obtained for another more recent show.

"Can someone provide numbers as to how many households get the network [Buzzr]?" The TV News Check interview with Jennifer Mullin said that Buzzr is now in 33 million households. This contrasts with the latest Nielsen estimate of 76 million for GSN. "I think you nailed it. This is likely a temporary (a few weeks) placeholder until another lease is obtained for another more recent show." Maybe, who knows? Right now ScreenerTV says O'Hurley Feud returns in the 1:00PM-2:00PM hour on February 13, though this may only be a placeholder until the site gets a new advance schedule from GSN. Thing is, even more recent shows on GSN daytime skew extremely old, according to numbers that Douglas Pucci has provided. So if Match Game can produce okay total viewer numbers in the 1:00PM-2:00PM hour, there's no real reason for GSN to spend any money to replace it. The network probably isn't going to get better demos with anything else.

Years ago lots of shows skewed old. Networks or advertisers didn't really care about demos like they do now. If the shows are getting decent numbers overall, I don't think it should matter, right? Heck, a lot of these commercials I used to see when I watched GSN on a regular basis were commercials more for older people than for younger people, no?
As for the Match Game overkill, I love the show. The 70s version and SYN versions they run, my favorite of all time next to probably Dawson Feud. I agree, it is overkill though. Thats Buzzr copying a lot of networks strategies now. Cable networks, mostly. If a show is popular, you air it until it dies.
Another thing I notice about cable networks, GSN included, is these new modernized logos to look more like these networks air more younger, reality type shows when thats not always the case. Its natural for networks to update logos, but GSN's looks like, I notice, almost like what TBS and TV Land have done with their logos. TV Land has a separate logo I noticed for their classic and original programing, but I'm talking about their logo for original programing. I don't know why that bothers me, but it does a little.

Regarding the extra hour of Match Game in the afternoons, from what I gather, the afternoon rotation started from the beginning of the lease (#921), and is Match Game supposedly continuing into 1978 in the mornings?
Also, it could be possible that GSN's lease of Match Game may include 1978 episodes currently in Buzzr's rotation, unless they reverted back in the mornings recently.

What do you mean "reverted back recently?" Buzzr's MG78 rotation starts at 1141, and the GSN morning episodes are still only in the 1110's. We still have a few weeks to go before we find out if GSN's lease extends past 1140 and into Buzzr territory.
