Number of Times CW has been wrong: The number is too high
Should've paid more attention to the schedule.

According to Game Show Follies, GSN will be running Clark Pyramid on Thanksgiving Morning from 8:00am-12:00pm eastern. Match Game gets a Black Friday Marathon from 8:00am-12:00pm. Cash Cab, The Chase, and Family Feud also get marathons throughout the weekend.

...and Family Feud also get marathons throughout the weekend. I thought Family Feud has a marathon seven days a week... And I'm not even sorry about that.

GSN reported at the bottom of the screen during $25k Pyramid at 10AM EST that Millionaire with CHris Harrison will be airing on GSN starting on 12/18 at 3PM EST. THis will replace the second hour of the current block of Dylan Lane Chain Reaction episodes. I suspect they've picked up the 2015-16 season and will be airing it in an hour block from 3-4PM, but no official word as yet. Nice pickup for GSN, though they aired the first two seasons of Meredith Vieira MIllionaire circa 2008-2009 and it wasn't one of their more popular shows ratingswise.

Interesting. If I recall when GSN aired Meredith Vieira's Millionaire a number of years ago it started out well and GSN gave it death slots afterwards so I guess it started to falter a bit in the ratings. Although I don't recall its exact ratings so maybe it's just a poor memory on my part. GSN didn't care about Cedric's or Terry Crews episodes. But Chris Harrison they do.
I thought Meredith did a fine job as a host, but she's more of a journalist type anyways. Crews and Cedric weren't terrible, I liked Cedric. Too bad GSN didn't pick up Terry Crews or Cedric's versions a few years ago, not to harp on it.
Millionaire is still suffering a bit in syndication, but with the show on GSN (possibly not getting the Feud or Cash Cab treatment right away) but I think this will be a good thing for the show going on GSN in a way.
GSN wasn't so nice to Meredith's version after it failed putting it in death slots, like at 3:30am on weekends. Maybe it wouldn't have killed them to air it in the daytime at the time. (Just saying)
This is probably the first "major" piece of business the new regime has done, if you will.

Regarding Meredith's Millionaire history of GSN, if I may. GSN started airing the show in November 2008, and it replaced all of the Regis slots which were on the schedule (except his weekend afternoon slots). It aired Monday-Saturday at 8:00pm and 12:00am and weekends at 2:00pm. Come January 2009, it aired during primetime at 8:30pm, and 9:30pm, sandwiched beetwen Karn and O'Hurley Feud, and it lost its 12:00am slot to the Regis version. Eventually it got cut to one airing in primetime, and vanished near the end of 2009. Just a few weeks prior to that, it got its weekend 3:30am slot, which it had until it left the schedule (whenever that was, I can't remember off the top of my head). It seems to me it had plenty of chances to succeed on the schedule, and for some reason, it didn't. If it had been a hit first off, they wouldn't have had to any rearrange the slots, or put Regis' version back in those slots.
Speaking of which, Regis' version when it first premiered on the schedule in 2003 was a major hit for the network for several years. Eventually that got banished to latenights, and then to weekends only. They tried putting it back on primetime in 2011, but that was short lived. Eventually that left the schedule in 2012.
As for this version, it will be interesting to see how it does. While I don't care for the show anymore, this does add some more variety in the afternoon.

Millionaire was one of the first game shows I really ever watched, the reruns with Regis when that was on GSN. Started watching game shows regularly in 2006.
I agree this does add some variety to the lineup. I'm not a big fan of the show anymore, either, and putting it in a death time slot like 1:30am here doesn't help. I just aren't that big of a fan anymore to record the first run episodes like I used to be.

I think this is a good move for them. Adds some variety, and it's good to see the show back on the GSN schedule in some form. Should do well in the 3 PM slot, which seems to be a peak viewing period for GSN regardless of what they put there, and 2 hours of Lane Chain Reaction really was overkill.

Yeah, take away the 2 hours of Chain Reaction overkill instead of the 6 hours of Feud overkill.

It will be very interesting to find out how Chris's Millionaire will do on GSN, considering it may face competition against the current season's episodes (some in first-run) aired by some local affiliates. But nonetheless, it's a great early Christmas gift for the fans of modern programming.
Also, one thing that never got mentioned yet is finding out if the two weeks of black-and-white late night programming will occur this holiday season. If it doesn't air on December 18, it's a safe bet it's not coming back.

I thought Casey Abell said in a recent blog post that there will be B&W overnight this year, no?

Yeah, take away the 2 hours of Chain Reaction overkill instead of the 6 hours of Feud overkill. Believe me, I'm not thrilled with the daily Harvey-thons. But to be fair, Harvey does have a lot more episodes to throw around. In any case, at this point, any little bit of extra variety is welcome. I thought Casey Abell said in a recent blog post that there will be B&W overnight this year, no? He said there was an announcement of special overnight programming, which probably means the panel shows as usual, but it hasn't been fully confirmed.

As for the panel shows, I think we'll find out tomorrow once the online schedule gets updated.

It seems as if the only time additional Family Feud is welcome to GSN by a lot of users, it has to be hosted by Richard Dawson or Ray Combs.
I'll take Ray Combs any day.
