. I don't think John Davidson was meant to be a permanent fixture on GSN

Kind of disappointing, but I saw it coming. It must have been one of those last minute changes I guess because it was listed for this Saturday if I recall with 2 hours of Match Game.
Give GSN credit, they keep trying to give those oldies a shot. Flashback Fridays back in 2011, early 2012 was another example of that and now Saturday Night Classics. I'm not going to fault GSN, if they didn't work, they didn't work. Nothing works quite like Steve Harvey it seems, and GSN is trying other acquisitions like Cash Cab and Millionaire so they don't have to rely solely on Harvey Feud all the time, especially on weekends.

I'm about to give up on GSN entirely because of their love for Harvey Feud.

I'm about to give up on GSN entirely because of their love for Harvey Feud. Hey, they still air some classics and good shows. Don't throw the baby (classics) out with the bath water (Harvey Feud). Toilet water?

I'm not surprised, or even that disappointed. Match Game still has plenty of other spots on the schedule, and they at least gave a chance to many different shows like Let's Make a Deal, color What's My Line?, and Jim Perry's Card Sharks for instance. They gave it a fair shot with plenty of promotion and it failed. Oh well, time to move on.
Maybe I'll watch Feud on Saturday nights. Maybe I won't. It depends on what I've got going on Saturday night. At least I can now make plans on that night considering the Buzzr lineup is repeats of what aired earlier in the week.
Plus, you want old shows? There's lots on YouTube. Including my channel if you really want to watch them. Just saying.

GSN needs to make another network original. Just acquiring shows isn't going to help.

I’m surprised how in just under 2 months, they started with 4 shows, then 3, then a few rotating shows, to nothing. But I agree more originals are needed. That could put some gas in the old car and perhaps allow more diversity.

Other than Cover Story, there's really nothing going on right now originals wise. Heck, the only originals being reran are Chain Reaction (2006), Baggage, The Newlywed Game (Shepherd), and The Chase.
I'm surprised Idiotest is gone to be honest. It was a good show. Divided was pretty fun too. Emogenius was another good one I actually enjoyed. I'm kind of surprised those have fizzled out.
I know it's probably not going to happen, but I'd love to see something like Russian Roulette, Cram, Lingo, or hell even the 2006 run of I've Got A Secret. Those are probably too old to run now, but those would certainly be nice to see. I'll just continue dreaming though.

Woolery Lingo's last two series of shows are of roughly the same vintage as Lane Reaction, give or take a few months. IGAS 2006 is only a few months older than the first season of Chain.

I'm worried if we keep complaining, we'll see Dancing With The Stars again. I hope it doesn't come to that.

Only one word for GSN now, hopeless. I stopped watching GSN years and years ago, soon as they started putting on all the new crap. Most recently I recorded their showings of new Eubanks Card Sharks and Match Game but that didn't last long. I'm back now to my total blackout of the station. I did almost enjoy the last Saturday's Steve Allen I've Got a Secret but they muted half the show. Would have been perfect if I was deaf, didn't know to turn on subtitles till after I recorded it. So now I have a 1/2 mute Steve Allen program, guess you could say I'm only enjoying 1/2 wit. Now after a grand total of one Saturday Classics it's back to the black hole for GSN. Seems they're lost forever there. Bye Bye again GSN, see ya in another decade or 2.

I'm sure new show production cost is much steeper than lease acquisition.
It's the main reason behind the trend across all networks toward reality shows (gag).
