We all know that the game show blooper specials always seem to re-show the same bloopers and stupid answers over and over. Granted, it's not all that funny after a while. So are there any newer mistakes in game shows that could be included in a new package - if people decide to make a new one?

When I was watching a Catch-21 episode I saw this blooper and this blooper will make you laugh when you see it, Alfonso Ribeiro: Ellen DeGeneres is best friends with this actress?, Contestant: {Presses Buzzer} Portia DeLorento. I Mean Portia who, {Game Show Buzzer sounds}, Alfonso Ribeiro: The correct answer is Portia DeRossi {Laughs}, If you ever seen this blooper prepare to laugh. It is so funny, Kelsey

Mandoli, could you change the word "stupid" in the name of the topic to something with fewer negative connotations like "illogical"?

A bulk of the answers were stupid. Not just illogical, but stupid.

Mandoli, could you change the word "stupid" in the name of the topic to something with fewer negative connotations like "illogical"? Why? Because it's what you think should be right? My opinion doesn't necessarily have to be yours.

Stupid answer: I remember watching an episode of Dawson's Family Feud and in fast money, one of the questions was something like "Name an animal with three letters in its name". One of the players said "Alligator". If that's not stupid, then I don't know what is.

I guess you're right.
How about in Mike Richards' Pyramid when Nick Turturro answered Einstein for an accurate clue about Benjamin Franklin? Not only was that stupid, but it was also very ignorant.

Mandoli, could you change the word "stupid" in the name of the topic to something with fewer negative connotations like "illogical"? Did I miss your formal appointment as this forum's ordained language cop? The word "stupid" has been neutered thanks to decades, if not a century or more, of (mis)use in the common lexicon. It's now no worse than a playful insult, the kind you'd toss around with your buddies when you want to needle them, and is no longer even remotely offensive. Certainly not on the level that, say, a certain eight-letter "R" word still is, though I suspect within a generation even that will lose its traditional meaning as well and become accepted (if not entirely accept able) in everyday usage the way "stupid" is now. Trust me on this one. I don't know anyone who is more sensitive to "negative connotations" of certain words than I myself am, so if I'm the one saying a word like "stupid" is okay, there shouldn't be any question about it. Seriously, dude, you need to give this a rest. I know you mean well, but nobody likes a pedant. And if you choose to ignore this friendly warning... well... Take a little look over to the left of this post, where it says "Forum Administrator" under my name. Generally speaking, it's not wise to ignore "friendly warnings" from an admin.
Not a threat, just a... reminder.

Wow, that was a bit harsh, don't you think? That was uncalled for.

Harsh, maybe, though I did try to be as understanding as I could (I acknowledge that I might've failed at it though).
Uncalled for? ...You wouldn't say that if you had all the info I did. Suffice to say, Mario has recently made rather a pest of himself to the admins over the tiniest little infractions of the rules of the English language. After a while it becomes the equivalent of water torture, and anyone's patience would wear thin. I suppose that may have been my own breaking point.

Well to be fair, I haven't read most of Mario's comments, so consider me uninformed until now.
But yeah, I've learned that pretty much any swear word is allowed here. However, I really don't like going down that road. That's just me, though.

Honestly sometimes answers can be stupid. Like one time on Match Game '76 when a contestant said that a brick fell off of a tree and hit Issac Newton in the head and he discovered gravity instead of an apple.
He seemed like an alright guy and didn't seem to care that much that the celebs made a little fun of it for a while, because it wasn't that serious. Gene made it clear that the guy himself wasn't a dummy and that it was just harmless ribbing over a bad answer.

^ Except that's repeated in every blooper reel series... and Richard's biting commentary afterwards is the funnier part ("come back tomorrow, see if he'll show his face around here again...") speaking of Family Feud, the "name an animal with really good sight" bit from the Dawson era is a bad answer I enjoy that doesn't get too much play. another one that I love mostly thanks to the guy's deadpan response, reaction, and then the crowd's "... what" laughter is from Press Your Luck. Peter asks which city has the slogan, "if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere" and the contestant's deadpan response, "Phoenix". of course, none of these are new, but they're ones I don't see in a lot of blooper specials that I feel deserve mention. Now for one that I know for a fact hasn't been in any blooper specials. It'd make it onto one now for its slightly perverted connotations. From a Family Feud episode from the middle of the Dawson run, even the studio audience giggled a little at the response: "name something little boys like that little girls don't" "balls!!"
