Is that the Press Your Luck episode with a contestant named Jimmy who asks the question you mention Carpetcrawler? Because I've seen that blooper many times and it's so funny. By the way the correct answer was New York. That episode is so cool and really neat., Kelsey

Just finished watching Mike Richards's Pyramid. It was the final round and one of the panels said something like "What Jupiter would say". The contestant went on to say "I'm the largest planet" and what does the celebrity guess? "Mercury!"
Yeah, stupid answer is stupid.

On an episode of Australia's Sale of the Century in 1984, as the cash jackpot was introduced, Tony Barber got hit in the head by the lowering safe that contained the cash jackpot. At the time, it was $66,000. It was so funny.

I remember a syndicated $ale of the Century episode from its early weeks in 1985 that Jim Perry asked the question "According to the song, 'when there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call?'" The contestant buzzed in and gave the stupid answer Mister Rogers. As fits of laughter occurred, Jim made a joking comment "Can you see Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood? Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!"
I think that episode should be airing on Buzzr by next week. I think this stupid answer was more of a case of not being up on music from 1984.

Lemme get a few of the overplayed ones out of the way... * The Newlywed Game (Eubanks, late 1970s) - "In the ass." * Family Feud (Dawson, 1980 daytime) - "September." * The Price Is Right (Barker, 1977 daytime) - Yolanda's top falling down. ...There. the time on catch 21 where a contestant passes a card that would give 21 to an opponent. That happened several times, actually. There was also at least one contestant who opted to bust himself. Worst part? Said guy was Larry Toffler.

this one isn't really new, but it was hilarious.
During Regis-era Millionaire, he asked a question of an old lady that read "A raised forefinger and vertical thumb of the right hand placed flat against the forehead is the symbol for what?"
A) Lady B) Loser C) Lunch D) Later
The lady didn't have any clue so proceeded to do this gesture on her forehead, which made the entire audience laugh. She said "I think I just made the symbol for loser", then her and Regis proceeded to trade L's for nearly 5 minutes joking about it, he put it on his forehead and said "I bet you think I'm a real loser now. Or maybe I'm saying 'lady', or 'lunch'."
this was one of the most hilarious things I had ever seen on a show and I haven't seen it since its initial airing in 2000.

Wait... The same Larry Toffler who hosted Finders Keepers? Yeah, same one. He appeared on July 1, 2009 (Game Show News Net recap here, if you're curious), and was referred to as running a live interactive game company. Despite the aforementioned self-bust, he won the game and ended up with $2,599 ($2,000 cash and the First 21 bonus of a $599 vacuum). Larry also played on Debt and Russian Roulette. All of these were as a regular contestant, and I don't think his game show connection was ever mentioned.
