On a very, very brighter note, look what's coming on September 7: Yes, all those clips are of pilots, some of which didn't sell and most of which have never aired. This is gonna be fun. /does not have Buzzr

I'm really impressed with what's to come. Certainly makes up for the constant repeats.

The multi-path that has plagued my reception of my BUZZR affiliate from the translator is starting to dissipate. So long as the signal stays good during the shows (or my cable provider picks BUZZR up, whichever comes first), I plan on getting every one of those. Of course, other YouTube uploaders will be doing the same, so as long as one of us gets each of them, we'll be okay. And, knowing BUZZR, these shows won't be run just once.

And it appears there will be pilots for unsold AND sold game shows. I saw one for the 1960's Match Game.
A certain individual said that pilot episodes are "unappealing". I will never understand why he said that. On the contrary, I love pilot episodes. It's fun seeing what changed in the transition from the pilot stages to the actual series. This applies to not just game shows, but also with other genres in general (i.e. sitcoms, dramas, animated series).

I am not sure if I was the one who made that statement, but if I did it doesn't apply anymore, at least to some degree. To be honest, I seem to have grown upon the 1983 Press Your Luck pilot in recent months, plus I have actually enjoyed the 70s Match Game pilot as well as the Match Game 1990 pilot (supposedly taped in 1989) with Bert Convy as host that aired during GSN's Match Game marathon on Christmas Day 2012. I even enjoyed another Match Game 90 pilot that Wink Martindale uploaded some time ago, along with the pilot to Whammy! - despite me not being a fan of new 21st century programming, but since Peter Tomarken hosted that one, that was a rare exception. I'd be interested to see the pilots to the mid-80s revival of Card Sharks and Body Language someday, as well as a better quality version of the Press Your Luck pilot (hopefully Wink Martindale will upload it, or air on Buzzr). I'd also be interested in viewing the Monopoly pilot with Peter Tomarken as host - especially since one of the people who worked on that pilot was the voice of the cartoon character shown in my avatar.

Variety has an article up about the Lost & Found block: variety.com/2015/tv/news/buzzr-sets-programming-block-of-failed-game-show-pilots-1201572773/Notably, it mentions a "1992 format" of Family Feud, which The Game Show Forum is speculating to be related to Bullseye. the Match Game 1990 pilot (supposedly taped in 1989) with Bert Convy as host The entire week of shows was taped on October 1, 1989, yes. I'd also be interested in viewing the Monopoly pilot with Peter Tomarken as host - especially since one of the people who worked on that pilot was the voice of the cartoon character shown in my avatar. David Downs once had it online, but it disappeared in the wake of the Sony takedowns. If you ever see it, it's got a better format than the brief 1990 series and Peter hits it out of the park hosting-wise. It's also got a "returning champ" by the name of Mike Reilly. From what I can tell, the only reason Monopoly didn't get into syndication was because most stations saw Rich Uncle Pennybags (Patty Maloney) going around the board and said "Yeah, no." (Didn't help that Merv's pitchfilm was a bit arrogant, including a line to the effect of allowing stations to tell the King World representative "I trust you, I'll take the show sight-unseen.")

From what I viewed in the Variety article, it looks like one of the pilots on my wish list, Body Language, is on the agenda. If there is a pilot for Press Your Luck and/or the mid-80s revival of Card Sharks, this would make for an interesting week on Buzzr, but other than that, I'll stick with GSN, since GSN is giving us episodes of classics I enjoy that they haven't aired - in well over a decade, or ever.
As for the Monopoly pilot, what did people have against Patty Maloney? I think she was a great voice actress, and did a great job in lending her voice to Darla Hood in the animated Little Rascals series back in the 80s - she even sounded a lot like the real Darla Hood (who passed away in 1979) in the animated series. I don't know why such animated series didn't get the respect it deserved.

I've only seen pictures for the Pilot of the 1980's CS revival. Bob Eubanks was holding a small white microphone, kinda like Ray Combs on Family Feud, when he first began using one.

As for the Monopoly pilot, what did people have against Patty Maloney? They had nothing against Patty Maloney, probably because she was never credited on the pilot. They seem to have thought the idea of someone playing what essentially amounted to a living token was silly.

Sorry for the double-post, but there's a (partial?) list of the shows in a new topic at The Game Show Forum: Unsold Pilots: - Body Talk (attempted 1990 revival of Showoffs/ Body Language) - Family Feud Challenge (a four-family tournament-style format) - On A Roll- Play For Keeps! (attempted 1955 big-money revamp of Winner Take All) - Star Words- TKOSold Pilots: - Beat the Clock (Hall) - Body Language- Child's Play- Double Dare (Trebek) - Family Feud (Dawson, 1975) - Family Feud Challenge (the standard three-family format) - Let's Make A Deal (1963) - The Match Game (1962) - Match Game (1973) - Now You See It (Narz)

Are we talking about the one hour Family Feud pilots that didn't sell?

Ah, I knew there was something I forgot to do. Derrick, could you join as a member? I was trying to prevent someone from coming in to post garbage, but it's not you who's in trouble (obviously).

Are we talking about the one hour Family Feud pilots that didn't sell? Yes and no. One of said pilots, with a four-family tournament format, didn't sell. The other, despite Buzzr's claims, became Family Feud Challenge in mid-1992.

The full schedule was posted by snowpeck on the Game Show Forum. In addition to the aforementioned pilots, there will also be regular non-pilot episodes of Match Game (1964 and 1973), Double Dare (two 1976 episodes), Now You See It (two 1974 episodes), Let's Make a Deal (1969 and 1972), Beat the Clock (1979), Body Language (1985), and Child's Play (1982 and 1983). And further adding to the confusion regarding the "1992 Family Feud", the schedule shows the hour-long "1992 Pilot 3" followed by what's listed as two regular half-hour 1992 episodes. Looks like a very cool week of programming in any case!
