I figured it out. The episode I'm missing is the last one from the previous week, 12/28/84 with Smith/Farr.

Starting this week, no more Blockbusters or Press Your Luck on the daily schedule. What?! That's so stupid! Well, PYL is on Saturdays for now. But maybe there will be one good thing about it. Maybe #257 won't be skipped by GSN like CardSharksFan8689 suspects as such.

Been catching up on stuff on my DVR and I'm glad to see Buzzr got out some fresh Tattletales episodes. It's nice to finally see the rest of the week where Gene Rayburn hosted.

Looks like GSN will be there for your daily Press Your Luck fix. That just goes to show what heavy abuse of 1983 and early-1984 on Buzzr can do. That pretty much explains the Facebook advertisement about fresh episodes of Body Language and Tattletales in recent weeks.

Some wild blue speculation... I once referred to the "nuclear option" for GSN, if Buzzr ever showed signs of becoming a serious competitor. That option would be acquiring recent eps of Wheel of Fortune, something that Fremantle-owned Buzzr can never duplicate. Well, GSN has gone and acquired the 2013-14 season of WoF. Does this mean they're going nuclear on their budding competitor in diginet land? I dunno, it probably just means that GSN's total day averages have been heading south lately, which is certainly true. What would be a similar nuclear option for Buzzr to make itself into a real competitor for GSN? My guess is Bob Barker eps of The Price is Right. I have no idea if Barker TPiR is ever coming to Buzzr, but it would make the same kind of splash that Johnny Carson's Tonight Show made for fellow diginet Antenna. A recent interview with Fremantle exec Jennifer Mullin revealed that Buzzr is currently available in 33 million households. They want to get that number up to 50 or 55 million. Barker TPiR is the kind of major property that might get them there. We'll see.

Blockbusters returns to the daily schedule next week at 3:00-4:00PM, starting with 153/154. I doubt this has anything to do with me emailing them earlier this week asking for them to bring it back.

I checked Buzzr's schedule for Halloween. It appears to be regular programming that day. No marathons to report.

According to him, Holly Hallstrom never existed, and fur coats never existed. Barker's an idiot. He needs to stop acting like he owns the rights to every episode of the show.

Bob Barker doesn't seem to care about any model prior to Brandi. I wouldn't be surprised if Brandi got the gig in 2002 because Bob Barker probably had the hots for her. But, however, contrary to my preference for 80s fare, I did enjoy the 2002-2007 era of TPIR the most.

Hey, guys? Don't stray from the topic. This is about Buzzr. Not models.

Agree. Only thing I've ever heard about Barker's preferences is the nyet on fur. Well, he probably wouldn't like a few of the models, either, but I've never heard anything specific on this.
Two things. First, I doubt that Barker has any legal rights to veto any TPiR eps from re-airing. Second, though Fremantle would of course only want to re-air eps that would meet with Barker's approval, they would still have no problem putting together a nice package for Buzzr. They've got thousands of episodes to choose from.
I have no idea if Barker TPiR will ever see the light of diginet. But if Buzzr really wants to build itself into a significant competitor with GSN, Barker TPiR is the kind of major property that could help make it happen. I can't think of any other Fremantle oldie (not currently on Buzzr) which would have nearly as much impact. Now You See It or Trivia Trap wouldn't exactly make a gigantic splash.
Sure, if Buzzr ever decides to go with recent shows, Harvey Feud would obviously be the impact choice. But I think Fremantle enjoys those rights fees from GSN too much. And I don't see Buzzr going away from oldies any time soon, anyway. That seems to be their niche and they're sticking to it.

Well, he probably wouldn't like a few of the models, either, but I've never heard anything specific on this. It's been believed that Holly Hallstrom's episodes are barred because, if I'm not mistaken, she was the only person who really "won" against Barker. Hey, guys? Don't stray from the topic. This is about Buzzr. Not models. To be fair, Barker's issues with models (and certain staff members) are probably a big reason why Price isn't on Buzzr. I doubt that Barker has any legal rights to veto any TPiR eps from re-airing. If I understand the whole "legal rights" thing correctly, Bob has the right to his likeness and can authorize or bar in that respect alone. If he doesn't want his image to be associated with fur coats (as is clearly the case), that's his right. Legally, Barker can't forbid Buzzr from airing episodes of the other versions (Cullen, James, Kennedy, Davidson, and Carey)...but I think CBS is the other obstacle, mainly not wanting competition with their first-run episodes.
