I have COX, and it's causing the same problem.
My classes are kicking my ass, so I haven't had time to get the commercial on tape.

Wow. It sounds like the left and right audio channels weren't mixed properly at all at some point with that ad. I can see why that'd be annoying.

I also checked my recordings of $ale of the Century from yesterday and this morning, and yesterday's airing had audio problems during the entire first segment, and today's airings had audio problems after the first commercial break and for the remainder of the show. I feel as if it's either the lack of synching of audio on the cable provider's part, or bad weather. I'm leaning towards bad weather more than anything else, as I didn't experience these audio problems in mid-December. I bet the Nutri-System My Way ads are probably only for the winter season, and come spring, a new set of ads will probably come in, and maybe the My Way ads will be history once and for all - at least for a while.

As I mentioned, I did record a couple of $ale episodes late last week, and I may be able to show GSN the problem regarding the My Way ad, and leading into $ale, but I am afraid to upload it to YouTube due to copyright issues with $ale of the Century. I think GSN cannot notice the problem because the problem is on the home viewer's side and cannot be discovered in the GSN control room.
Of course, when GSN does their splitscreen promo at the end of a classic show - even just after the show signs off during the audio problems, the audio is back to normal, at least for the time being. I think the audio problems getting in the way of programming is more prevalent during the classic shows and not so much 21st century programming.
I hope the newer commercials after Christmas Day last year will not experience audio problems, and if it is, the classics will lose a lot a viewers, and GSN may solve that problem by flipping the switch to all 21st century programming sooner than later. If that day happens, then Drew Carey's show on another network will regain me as a viewer.

Just post the ad issues. Or find another site to show it off on. Dailymotion users get away with a lot.

Is it me or has this ad been non-existent the last 5 days?

Is it me or has this ad been non-existent the last 5 days? Maybe GSN listened to us viewers and finally discovered the issue. I have recorded three straight airings of $ale of the Century this week, and no audio problems to report. The only NutriSystem ads that aired were the "Fast 5" ads that had no audio problems, and they were aired before the final segment on Monday's and Wednesday's airings. So this may be a good omen of things to come. If the other "My Way" ad continues to be non-prevalent by Valentine's Day, then I am safely declaring that the audio problems are over, and good riddance to that problematic ad.

It makes me wonder if that one ad only airs during January and no other month. Haven't seen it at all in February yet.

It makes me wonder if that one ad only airs during January and no other month. Haven't seen it at all in February yet. The ad was probably a promotion that existed between the day after Christmas and the end of January inclusive. The ad hasn't existed as of February 1, so that said, I think it looks like it's already safe to declare that the problematic ad is now history, and we can enjoy our classics once again. Though the final day of that short-term problematic ad, such ad was shown during the first commercial break on $ale of the Century, and the audio problems ate up the remainder of the show (a few questions before the second In$tant Bargain occurred), thus making my recording of last Thursday's and Friday's airings a dud. Sounds like it was one majorly big problem to close off such promo. So good riddance to that.

Ever since The Chase Mind Of A Man The American Bible Challenge and Minute To Win It with Apolo Ohno debuted I have noticed that GSN has been making Minute To Win It and Mind Of A Man their top shows rather than giving attention to The Chase and Family Feud and I can't figure out why GSN is doing this? Is it because Minute To Win It is the third popular show on GSN next to Mind Of A Man and The Chase in ratings or is it because GSN is trying to gain a brighter audience to the network? Another thing I have noticed about GSN is that now that The Chase is over I have seen nothing but Shop Til You Drop and Mind Of A Man commercials and tons of Family Feud commercials as well but even with The Chase being shown in reruns I have seen very little commercials advertising The Chase and it makes me shocked and surprised that GSN has done little promotion on a smash hit show and with The Chase being a monster hit GSN should promote The Chase a lot more. Another thing I noticed about GSN is that when add a new show it becomes a hit then the other GSN shows get forgotten or lose their novelty as we saw with The Pyramid Bill Engvall's Lingo and 1 Vs 100 and it is a surprise that GSN has a hit show for two seasons then gets canceled with no reason given. Could The Chase and Mind Of A Man and Minute To Win It be GSN's new favorite shows favored over Family Feud and The American Bible Challenge?, Kelsey

I actually was wondering why GSN jumped from the early Allen Ludden episodes of Password Plus all the way to the final 66 episodes with Tom Kennedy of the run, and my best guess is, GSN's ratings may not have been that great as the run was further into 1979 and it may have been around Ep. 140, or not long afterwards, that Ludden may have been showing signs of his health in decline, and I think it's pretty normal for a game show to decline in ratings whenever its host's health is in decline and showing signs of getting ill.
Also, whenever GSN aired episodes of Eubanks' Card Sharks, except for in 2004, GSN may have been known to yank Eubanks' Card Sharks off the schedule somewhere in late Spring or Summer 1988 in the run, and I am guessing (and this is only a guess on my part) that something about one of the cast members may have turned viewers away. GSN did continue airing Eubanks' Card Sharks from further into 1988 on weekends in 2004, and I am not certain if, at that time, they were new-to-GSN episodes of Eubanks' Card Sharks.
I'd be eager to see if any episodes of Bob Eubanks' Card Sharks will be jumped over if GSN decides to bring back such show on a regular basis again someday. To be honest, I'd prefer to see the rest of 1986, and eventually the 1987 episodes, since they have not been shown on GSN in well over a decade, and I believe the 1987 episodes are long overdue to be shown on GSN.

If I had to make any kind of legit guess, and of course, this is pure speculation on my part: they probably just wanted to give the show a rest for a while.
If GSN brings back Card Sharks, I would hope it'd be episodes not seen in a while. As far as Eubanks CS goes, I second the idea of episodes from 1987. Or, hell, I'd take absolutely any episodes that aren't from the first year. For the last several years, this version of the show, whenever GSN brings it back, always has started from the beginning. 1986 has been run enough for at least a pretty sustainable while.
I'd also like to see the last few months of the Perry version the most. Though anything outside of the 1978 and 1979 batches that have been most recently shown would garner my interest.
All in all I would gather that the notion of licensing between 50-200 episodes of shows at a given time instead of gaining rights to an entire library of tens of thousands of episodes is more than likely done for cost cutting purposes.

Maybe GSN aired Eubanks' Card Sharks in the 11:30 a.m. ET slot just as a placeholder, and that slot's airing may have been dropped around the same time Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck debuted on GSN. I can see April 15, 2002 and August 5, 2002 being dates devoted to major schedule changes, and it was on August 5, 2002 - the day Lingo debuted - that Match Game '90 was off GSN's lineup for a while. Again, it sounds like Match Game '90 was probably just a placeholder during the early summer and maybe spring of 2002. It seemed to be evident that a major schedule change was made whenever a brand new GSN original premiered during those days.
As for the next lease of Eubanks' Card Sharks (if it should happen), I would be okay with episodes from the last three months of 1986 episodes, since really, those episodes have not been shown on GSN since early 2007 (though Christmas week 1986 was last shown in 2008) - I find it hard to believe it's been seven years since we last saw the car game debut episode air on GSN. And although the car game debut episode does exist on YouTube, it would be more fun for me to record and see such episode in better quality. Plus I would like to see the episode with the contestant named Bob Eubanks and witness the host's reaction to such name.
I do second the idea of GSN leasing the later 1981 episodes of Perry's Card Sharks, as it will have been 13 years (and most likely counting) since they were last shown on GSN. But I bet that, if GSN brings back Perry's Card Sharks next time, it may end up airing on weekends only (in the slot currently devoted to Password Plus) and probably from later in 1979 or early in 1980.
I'd be willing to bet that Eubanks' Card Sharks may come back to GSN when the network will have exhausted all of the new-to-GSN $ale of the Century and/or Press Your Luck episodes available for airing, and thus leaving a void in a half hour slot that would need to be filled. Eubanks' Card Sharks, or - dare I dream? - Scrabble, possible contenders to replace $ale down the road? Time will tell.

When I was watching Deal Or No Deal today I had technical problems while watching GSN and I want to know if anyone had witnessed this while watching Deal Or No Deal on GSN. While I was watching Deal Or No Deal the technical problems began while in the middle of the contestant introduction the screen went black and then Deal Or No Deal was fine for a few minutes then in the middle of the second round the screen turned to black for a few minutes and then it seemed fine again. When I was watching Catch-21 this morning GSN didn't have technical problems when I watched it and Catch-21 was very fine. This time I think it's another commercial that airs when Deal Or No Deal comes on at noon but I have no clue what commercial it is, Did anyone notice this trouble on GSN today?, Kelsey

I noticed some other problem with GSN as of lately. During Dick Clark's closing remarks on The $25,000 Pyramid, GSN does their splitscreen thing immediately after the commercial break, and after a 30-second promo, we hear the announcer's fee plugs, but wouldn't be long before it's cut and Super Password signs on without split-second blackness between the cutoff. Splitscreen seems to air in its appropriate slot at the end of Super Password and other shows, though.
But...
Today, the splitscreen was not prevalent at all on any shows, especially Whammy! Turns out that GSN must be having issues with the splitscreen technology as of lately. Happening at the wrong times, or not happening at all. I wonder if GSN may be in the process of updating their splitscreen look or something?
