I just found out that Buzzr edited the fee plugs out at the end of Password Plus. Has Buzzr done this before?

I just found out that Buzzr edited the fee plugs out at the end of Password Plus. Has Buzzr done this before? The episodes you're seeing are from this past October. After October 5, 1979(on the Buzzr reruns), the fee plugs were quickly re-instated.

The 4PM Betty White/Gene Rayburn airing of P+ had a blooper today. They accidentally revealed an extra clue to the puzzle, which may have helped the contestant to solve it, winning their team the game. I suspect it got noticed. Perhaps the other player might have been felt to be disadvantaged because of that, and they may have been invited back to the show because of it.

Here's something we didn't know until around 2000 or so, on the November 12-16, 1979 week of episodes, Gene Wood announced the first episode of the week but John Harlan did the fee plugs in all 5 episodes of the week, and he announced the rest of that week, the November 26-30, 1979 week of episodes also had Gene announced the first episode of the week but John Harlan announced the rest of that week as well. I know some of you had GSN in the '90s but most of us didn't get to see these 2 weeks of episodes until 2000 because previously, those weeks were on at 3:30am in the weeknight rotation. Now, the Bill Cullen guest-hosting weeks were aired from April 14-May 12, 1980(but still lasted for 20 episodes), if we go further back, January 28-February 1, 1980 saw a set change and saw an overhaul change to the Puzzle board. The July/August 1980 time frame saw the Puzzle board changed to a skinnier text and the left and right arrows added in. The huge format change came on November 3, 1981 instead of November 2, and that format is where we drag through *2* episodes without a playing in the Alphabetics end game(which by that time became a progressive jackpot). Here's what I'm picturing, Chuck Wagner was partnered with Audrey Landers at the end of the November 23, 1981 episode and the $200 puzzles were playing but at the beginning of the November 24 episode though, he was partnered with Fred Grandy, and Rory was partnered with Edie McClurg. I guess Edie McClurg won the coin flip. The Susan Richardson/Bill Cullen week lasted for 4 episodes(May 13-16, 1980), and the password of the day spiels concluded on October 27, 1980. Tom Kennedy took over the hosting on episode #470 with David Doyle as one of the celebrities for the All-Star week so Tom's first regular week of episodes as new host was in his 3rd week as new host(November 4-10, 1980).

pyramidfan after watching that ABC episode of Password from 1972 in full, I decided to take it upon myself to fix up the episode guide. I used newspapers.com as a source. You can compare what I changed with what Aaron Handy III had in older versions of the guide right here: markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Password_(1971)/Episode_Guideweb.archive.org/web/20090427160136/http://abcpassword.tvheaven.com/ABCPass_CelebArchives/1971.htmlweb.archive.org/web/20090427160141/http://abcpassword.tvheaven.com/ABCPass_CelebArchives/1972.htmlweb.archive.org/web/20090427160146/http://abcpassword.tvheaven.com/ABCPass_CelebArchives/1973.htmlweb.archive.org/web/20090427160146/http://abcpassword.tvheaven.com/ABCPass_CelebArchives/1974.htmlweb.archive.org/web/20090427160153/http://abcpassword.tvheaven.com/ABCPass_CelebArchives/1975.htmlI noticed some oddities. For November 1974, Linda Kaye Henning & George Peppard were listed twice. Ian Wallis said Allen mentioned a one-week delay in the format that week (it was supposed to begin on November 11, originally), but I heard from another source that a rerun was put in its place. Not sure what. Also, who played on the week of January 20, 1975? It was Vicki Lawrence, Elaine Joyce, Gene Rayburn, Edward Asner, Richard Dawson, *Unknown*. And why was Elaine Joyce brought back three weeks later? Wasn't she eliminated? Finally, if you see any special weeks I forgot to specify in that guide, please let me know. Thank you.

Vahan, you compiled the weeks for Password Plus over at the GSN Message Board, but let me break down the 1980 week changes for you: January 28-February 1, 1980: The overhaul change of the set and the Puzzle board. April 14-May 12, 1980: Bill Cullen guest Hosts and it was also the first time the show displays the wardrobe crediting and the stool was added in because of Bill filling in, I'm not sure if the stool stayed put or was brought back when Tom Kennedy took over. August 5-11, 1980: The puzzle board gets a skinnier text and the Puzzle solution adds in the left and right arrows. October 27, 1980: The password of the day reminders gets its last hurrah. October 28-November 3, 1980: Tom Kennedy takes over and the wardrobe crediting returns but Botany 500 gets the crediting, however it was Tom Kennedy's second week as new host, this week had Tom doing his pre-recorded speech.
Overall, Password Plus had 2 non-holiday pre-emptions in 1980.

And why was Elaine Joyce brought back three weeks later? Wasn't she eliminated? Finally, if you see any special weeks I forgot to specify in that guide, please let me know. Thank you. From a very reliable source, I can tell you that there were no new episodes taped for air the week of 11/11/1974. It's not known what was shown that week, but it was probably a repeat of one of their many all-celebrity weeks. Elaine Joyce's listing for the week of 1/20/75 must have been a TV Guide error. The other four you mentioned did play that week, and the remaining two celebrities were Juliet Mills and Louisa Moritz. A few additions/corrections: • The week of 1/22/73, Jo Anne Worley and Greg Morris joined Elizabeth Montgomery and Bert Convy for a special all-celebrity episode where they threw out the rules. • The two all-celebrity weeks in the summer of 1973 each aired for only one week. The Elizabeth Montgomery one aired the week of 6/18/73, with the Carol Burnett one airing the week of 7/2/73 -- both being bumped a week due to Watergate coverage. Also, both of those weeks featured Montgomery or Burnett teamed with 1973 tournament champ Lew Retrum. A missing celebrity from the Burnett week is Martha Peukert, the previous year's champion, who was teamed with Rock Hudson. • The week of 1/7/74, another team that challenged Burnett and Montgomery was Retrum and Peukert. • The week of 2/18/74, Betty White subbed for Nipsey Russell on Monday. • Sandy Duncan was the female guest the week of 6/17/74, not Sandy Dennis. (This is incorrectly listed in several newspapers, so I’m guessing that the press release had a mistake.) • The week of 7/8/74, another team that challenged Montgomery and Foxworth was Lesley Ann Warren and Peter Lupus. Also, it’s Elizabeth Baur, not Bauer. • Others participating the week of 7/22/74 were Betty White, Harvey Korman, and Edward Albert. • The week of 9/16/74, others who teamed with Betty White against Martin Milner and Greg Morris were Susan Oliver, Linda Kaye Henning, Kate Jackson, and Elaine Joyce. • The week of 9/23/74, it was not Eddie Albert who appeared, but son Edward. • The week of 10/7/74, others who challenged the team of Joyce Bulifant and Loretta Swit were Richard Long, Dick Sargent, Scoey Mitchlll, Tom Bosley, Orson Bean, and Lyle Waggoner. • The week of 10/14/74, the champion team of Lew Retrum and Martha Peukert also challenged the team of Carol Burnett and Rock Hudson. • The week of 11/4/74, Linda Kaye Henning and George Peppard were paired with behind-the-scenes people from hit TV shows. They were Pat McCormick, Chris Beard, Ben Joelson, Allan Manning, and Lorenzo Music. • The week of 11/25/74, Abby Dalton played instead of Sandy Duncan. • The week of 12/9/74, Edward Albert played, not Eddie. • The week of 4/28/75, Sally Field’s opponent was Alan Young, not Alan King (who TV Guide listed).

Now Brendan, remember I said that Password Plus had 2 non-holiday pre-emptions in 1980? One was on I think July 15 and the other one was during Bill's second week as guest-host causing that week to conclude on April 28. Have you checked the national newspaper for that week?

Simply amazing, Brendan. Thank you once again. Some more things I'd like to add to this discussion:
They really liked booking Peukert and Retrum a lot. I wonder when did they originally play? I take it their Grand Championships were in 1972 and 1973 respectively (don't know the exact week for the latter), and that they respectively played a total of five and seven times.
I haven't seen the two Fall 1973 episodes that are available for viewing at UCLA, but it appears the game became Best 2 Out of 3 by the last week of March 1974.
I heard an episode with Loretta Swit & Jack Klugman from 1975 is available on audio, though I don't see this pairing listed in the guide. Where is it?
Which week did the audio of Elizabeth Montgomery and Robert Foxworth playing the game come from? Also, is it still there? I remember listening to it on a Bewitched fansite.
It appears ABC usually treated game show preemptions very differently from CBS. If a preemption came on such short notice, then ABC refused to air the episode. So it looks like the ABC run had a grand total of 1,090 episodes and 218 weeks.

I'm afraid I don't know exactly when Martha and Lew originally played, but I think Lew played in the first quarterfinal match of the second season. Let me check on that.
It's actually Juliet Mills and Jack Klugman from 1975. I think I still have a copy that I downloaded somewhere.
The audio from the Montgomery/Foxworth episodes came from the week of 11/19/73. This is confirmed because Allen Ludden announces Betty White and Greg Morris as next week's guests, and they played the week of 11/26/73.

Last but not least, I'm not sure where the supposed slate for the March 14, 1975 episode came from. What I thought was the slate said as follows: "PASSWORD, ABC AIR DATE: 03/08/1975 Goodson-Todman Productions" Here's the REAL slate for that episode; Snowpeck showed it to me on Facebook.

What I thought was the slate said as follows: "PASSWORD, ABC AIR DATE: 03/08/1975 Goodson-Todman Productions" I thought it was established by now, but that "slate" was fanmade junk that was debunked a long time ago. The one you posted is the correct one.

pyramidfan I have an interesting question for you about Super Password. I remember you said you started taping that and The New $25,000 Pyramid in January 1986. Do you actually have all 1,151 episodes of Super Password from that point on from NBC as well as from GSN? I'm curious if GSN ever played the July 17, 1985 and May 26, 1986 episodes in the early years of the network. Whether you taped all 1,151 episodes or still missing some, that is still amazing, and you should be congratulated for it.

Whether you taped all 1,151 episodes or still missing some, that is still amazing, and you should be congratulated for it. I checked my records, and I'm only missing eight full episodes of "Super Password":
7/17/85: Jo Anne Worley, Jack Jones 1/23/87: Kim Morgan Greene, Richard Moll (have most of it on tape) 9/17-18/87: Constance McCashin, Nichelle Nichols, Clifton Davis, Richard Kline (have most of the 18th on tape) 9/24/87: Vanessa Williams, Stephen Furst (have the end game on tape) 11/10/87: Lydia Cornell, James Hampton (have the end game on tape) 2/12/88: Connie Stevens, Tricia Leigh Fisher, Dwayne Hickman, Scott Grimes 5/25/88: Molly Cheek, Roger E. Mosley
With the exception of 9/17/87, I saw all of the above episodes when they originally aired. (7/17/85 twice, as a local station reran the show on a two-day delay.)

I think four of them have aired on GSN, and these ones, we don't have access to: 7/17/85, 9/24/87, 2/12/88, and 5/25/88.
