It's only one day so it doesn't mean much. But TV News Check reports that Celebrity Name Game did a 0.8 household rating in the Nielsen metered markets for its first day. That's down considerably from the timeslot average last year. Given the competition people have talked about, I'm not surprised that the show might be getting some poor numbers in a lot of markets.

The double-run here in Columbus is up against the news hour, 6-7 PM.

We won't get the first weekly national numbers on Celebrity Name Game until October 7, if Nielsen sticks to its usual schedule. That will be the first real indication of how the show is performing. Reviews have generally been good, but some of the timelsots in the access hour are up against very tough competition. TV Media Insights also has some first-day numbers for the show, which aren't strictly comparable to the TV News Check numbers. But both sources agree the first day was nothing to write home about for Craig Ferguson and friends.

The audience is so upset whenever someone passes on anything. It's hilarious and so overdramatic. LOL.

I watched part of an episode a few weeks ago. I thought it was actually pretty entertaining.
Contestants were at a tolerable level when it comes to excitement for a show like this. Not too crazy, but they weren't robots. Gameplay was fast-paced. Perfect medium for this show.
Since we got our own cable, I'm probably going to have to tune in more often.
(Note: We don't get sports channels with our new TV package. We finally stopped leeching off of our landlord's TV and internet and got our own stuff yesterday. COX Economy TV - news and a few good channels. About it.)

Glad to hear of its renewal. It's a good format and I like CF as host - he seems to enjoy himself and the show and makes good fun with it all.

Is there gonna be a game of Celebrity Name Game that you can play on your tablets in the near future? Because with Celebrity Name Game being renewed for a second season in the fall I think Celebrity Name Game would be really fun to play on a tablet, Kelsey

Broadcasting and Cable broke the news of Celebrity Name Game's renewal, and Paige Albiniak noted that the show will move out of the access hour in many markets. That's already happened in my home DFW market, with the show getting a demotion from 6:30 PM and 10:00 PM to the 1:00 PM hour. At least the show is renewed, but it's obvious that Celebrity Name Game couldn't handle the very tough game show competition in the access hour. UPDATE: Just about every syndie rookie is getting renewed this year. Even Judge Faith, with an anemic 0.7 average household rating.
