Looks like I was wrong about the Trivia Trap pilot being on there. And really? Dream Maker getting a permanent spot in the schedule?
But Wordplay with the series proper AND the original Peter Tomarken pilot? That's it, I'm sold.
And yes, swohsemag, it is new to Buzzr. Syndie SOTC got as far as episode #081 in April. I hope they get to Matt Ottinger's episode, which was #095.

Actually, Wordplay is on at 8:30pm, not 9:30pm. It replaces Child's Play and Tattletales keeps its slots.
Trivia Trap goes to 8:00pm/11:00pm, and Now You See it and Beat the Clock move forward one hour, and Double Dare vanishes from the schedule for now.
Oh, and Dawson Feud moves to noon on Weekdays replacing the Combs version.
Despite the acquisition of Dream Maker and (personally) Double Dare leaving the schedule, excellent changes!

dare2be Don't forget to update the schedule log. Obviously, this is the first time in 30 years Wordplay has been rerun on television. If they go to the end, this will be a great opportunity to do an episode guide. I wonder how affected it was by Iran-Contra? Were many episodes shelved and unaired by NBC?

Dream Maker getting a permanent spot in the schedule? Even Buzzr doesn't know what the hell it's doing. Go home, Buzzr. You're drunk.

Holy crap, that's a good lineup. I definitely wasn't expecting Missing Links to be in there. this is the first time in 30 years Wordplay has been rerun on television. If they go to the end, this will be a great opportunity to do an episode guide. I think it's a great opportunity period. Even if it's just the first few weeks or so, that'll help immensely. I wonder how affected it was by Iran-Contra? Were many episodes shelved and unaired by NBC? Some episodes were definitely pushed around in August, as the three circulating shows with Jamie Farr hosting (all consecutive) have been dated to August 20, 21, and 24.

I just started an episode guide. Like I said, it's a work in progress. gameshows.wikia.com/wiki/Wordplay/Episode_GuideAnd yes, this is my style of episode guides for daytime game shows. I remember reading from Chris Clementson on the Game Show Forum that a new daytime game show would initially start with 13 weeks, and that they were renewed on a cycle basis. If it did well enough initially, then it'd be picked up for another 13 weeks. For instance, Scrabble had 23 cycles and 299 weeks (Summer 1984-Winter 1990). I also used the same style for the 1970's Pyramid guide on the Bob Stewart Wikia.

Richard Simmons' Dream Maker though... it almost sounds like Buzzr is trolling us. Just hope it doesn't show up on the regular schedule. Well, I jinxed it, didn't I? I don't want to sound ungrateful towards a network that's doing a lot of great stuff, but seriously, who the hell thought airing this was a good idea? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather they air Match Game '98 or Card Sharks 2001 over this - at least they're game shows. And beyond that, how many casual viewers even remember this show? It doesn't even have a Wikipedia page (and I'm not about to start one). On a lighter note, I am happy to see Wordplay, especially the pilot with Tomarken.

I remember RIchard Simmons' Dumbass Maker, as Dave Zinkin called it on ATGS. I might have jinxed it coming back in reruns in my March 2000 pre-April FOols post on Alt.tv.game-shows about Dream Maker and other then-short lived, not well liked shows coming to GSN. 17.5 years later, it's on Buzzr. One episode of Dream Maker did have two ladies being invited to visit the set of WOF when they were taping the Retro Week they did in the 1999-2000 season.

It will be great to see Wordplay in better quality, since I never got to see the series in first-run due to WDIV in Detroit refusing to air the series in favor of syndicated programming (most likely a talk show).
The only problem is, I don'T have Buzzr (since I am in Canada), so I may have to rely on YouTube or Dailymotion to see it.

It's funny that it premiered the same day the Bonus Sprint was added to Scrabble (after that 13-week long tournament when they officially abandoned straddling had concluded), and one week before the premiere of Bill Rafferty's Blockbusters.

Yeah as really Buzzr I hear is trying to avoid that of rerun abuse. Like that it doomed that of GSN. As help them to keep the new shoes coming on up.
