ABC has apparently given the green light to 500 Questions, a new "event" game show concept by Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell, with an eye towards a 2015 debut. At the moment, other than a description (readable at the link below) that sounds like typical sales-rep boilerplate, nothing is known about the show other than its name and its creative pedigree. (Burnett, of course, was the creative force behind the genre-defining Survivor as well as several other competitive-reality favorites, and with Darnell co-created Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?) ABC is gonna have a new game show called 500 Questions in 2015? Sounds like fun and I bet when it debuts 500 Questions will be the new sensation since Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Kelsey

500 Questions will be the new sensation since Who Wants To Be A Millionaire ... I keep asking you to try to limit your enthusiasm with new shows. You don't know what this show is about.

I read that the host for ABC's 500 Questions will be a guy named Richard Quest and I have never heard of him? Is he a news anchor for CNN's Business Channel?, Kelsey

Is he a news anchor for CNN's Business Channel?, Kelsey I wish to inform you that CNN has no business channel (or a TV programming service dedicated to business news) and that the person you had referenced is actually a news presenter for CNN's international TV programming service (CNN International).

Richard Quest is CNN's aviation "expert" now, apparently aside from his business duties over at CNN International. He has a show called "Quest Means Business" on there.
Ever since the missing plane incident, he's been CNN's aviation expert. I don't think he was their aviation expert before that.
But moving on...
Richard Quest is very funny, but I couldn't see him going around from London to the US back and forth to do his show and a game show. I believe he is based mostly in London, I could be wrong, I thought I heard that though. As far as I'm concerned this is pure speculation right now.

Oh so Richard Quest is from CNN after all. I asked my mother if she had heard of Richard Quest too because she watches CNN too and she hadn't heard of him as well. So I think my mother might give 500 Questions a try to see who Richard Quest is, Thank you very much for the info Phimat, Kelsey

I guess you're right about Richard Quest......Richard Quest is a very funny guy, I couldn't see him doing a game show, but I think he will do great. He's probably a very nice, personable person. He's a very interesting guy. Let me tell you the truth, I haven't watched a network game show on ABC, for example, in a long long time. Probably not since Who's Still Standing? in 2011, but when 1 vs. 100 was on I was also a regular viewer of that show along with Amnesia and Identity a couple of short lived game shows. Once 5th Grader comes back I'll probably watch that again, being that was one of my favorite game shows that I honestly didn't watch regularly when it aired on FOX, I watched most of the reruns on GSN when GSN started airing them. Same for Deal or No Deal which I didn't care much for but watched every episode of that. Let's just say that even when I started watching game shows that I was a mediocre fan of some of the shows. Now I pretty much watch any new game show I think is good, mostly trivia games and word games like a Idiotest or Chase type of show. That ends my summary of my mediocre game show viewing in the past. But yeah, I haven't watched a broadcast network game show in some time on a regular basis/ I'll have to mark 500 questions and 5th Grader on the calendar nevertheless.

Umm, weren't those on NBC? ABC was an example. Probably too many commas. When I said network game show, ABC was an example just to clarify for people just in case. Then I mentioned NBC game shows. To be fair, in the past NBC has come out with more game shows than any other network in the last decade, I could be wrong. NBC seems to love them though. The others seem pretty iffy about game shows in prime time. CBS hasn't had a prime time game show since what, Million Dollar Password? Power of 10? (I forget when PO10 came out though)

The first ever commercial for 500 Questions made it's debut last night and I happened to see it while watching the news on my NBC station {Which was surprising to me because my NBC station is the sister station to my ABC station} and based what I saw of 500 Questions from the commercial. It looks cool and the set design reminds me of The Chase set and the Million Dollar Password set with it's bright red color. And my favorite part of the 500 Questions commercial is when Richard Quest says "Three Strikes You're Out Of The Game" We shall see how promising 500 Questions is on May 20th, Kelsey

How can anyone say something is awesome when they haven't seen it yet? That's like giving into the networks before the shows even air, just like they want you to do.
