I've noticed that there are a number of American fans in the fandom who are like me in the sense that they enjoy a good British game show so I thought there should be a thread for them. There also seems to be more and more episodes of UK game shows being uploaded to YouTube on the regular so I thought this would be a good place than any to share some links. Here's a channel that has a bunch for example: www.youtube.com/channel/UCojzqoGCkbMgESTWJ_SBLlQ/videosAnyone have any favorites? Mine are The Chase, Blockbusters, Play Your Cards Right, Wheel of Fortune, Blankety Blank, and Bruce's Price is Right.

I don't know if I like Price in the UK (or if we're going further, Australia). The final round just seems... Difficult. I think it's just me, but if I had to watch an episode, I'd just finish pre-final.

I think it's just me, but if I had to watch an episode, I'd just finish pre-final. It took me a while to get used to the way they do the showcase round myself. It's the only real issue I have with it. It's funny, I love the UK version but I could not get into our 1994 syndicated version of TPIR back then and I can't even today. A better host in Bruce Forsyth helps, I guess. Plus some of the small things like keeping contestants' row.

After watching some more episodes recently of the British version, I just have one thing to ask people who take negative offers on The Chase: WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!
I understand that on a show like The Chase, everything is essentially a team effort in the end and the more people who get to go to the final round the better. The more people in the round, the more steps you create for the chaser, which makes it difficult for him or her to answer questions when it's time for their final round.
I also get that there's tons of pressure when you're going up against any of the chasers. Taking the offer of the money you earned in the round is also totally acceptable. Even taking smaller positive money amounts I get to an extent. It's the easy way out. But I get it.
But taking minus offers? There's NOTHING that warrants that. NOTHING. One, it's not even money! Obviously! Secondly, if I took a negative offer, won my round against the chaser, took money away from my team's pot, not only would I be walking back over to them with no money to contribute for us to win; but I'd take away already hard earned money my other teammates have won for us or for any remaining ones who are about to go. Not to mention, if we beat the chaser, I will have contributed nothing good to a pot that I'd have a share in. That's just wrong!

I knew that Classic Concentration got some airplay in the UK when it was still airing here, but I did not know that they had a version of their own around the same time.

I am planning to upload some UK game shows (both classic and modern) sometime this weekend with ads included. For this weekend, I plan to upload episodes from Challenge UK. Should I upload these UK gameshows on YouTube or Dailymotion? I want to know because I want to avoid a copyright strike.

You're definitely better off using dailymotion. YouTube has really cracked down on the posting of game shows recently, whereas dailymotion is a lot more lax on posting old episodes as long as the show isn't currently in prodiction or has old episodes available on a streaming service.

I found an old used Blockbusters DVD game from amazon a while back. It's from 2006 and features the late great Bob Holness walking potential players through the game, and also an updated saxophone version of the classic theme tune by Ed Welch. There's also a Price is Right DVD game that was released from around the same time. If I can find that I'll post a video montage of it as well. Just a heads up, if you find a copy somewhere and want to play it, you will need either a region free player or you can just play it on your PC's DVD drive.
ETA: I found the UK Price is Right DVD game just now on amazon. Used from the same seller I bought the Blockbusters game at the same price! 98 cents plus about 4 bucks shipping. Now to wait for it to get here.
