I'm not sure too much, but I think the lease for Eubanks Card Sharks will be resetting on April 17th.
As for Match Game, I do have to admit I'm a little disappointed that that they included the early 1974 episodes. I don't have anything against them, as a matter of fact, I greatly enjoy them. However, I recorded them when they aired a few years ago, and there's other portions of the series they could've leased. I was hoping for Match Game 73. Oh well. As I've said, I don't mind the 1974 episodes, but I'm probably not going to get up early (I live on the West Coast) to watch them.

According to the advance schedules, Match Game 78 will air in the 4:00pm slot (where the Robert Mandan week started today) for this week, and all of next, and then Match Game 75 will start airing there again.

Awesome stuff. I have been following the 4-5PM weekday slot for the MG75 rotation therein, and was not sure when it would reset, or to what episode it would reset to when it did. Now I know in advance, this makes things a lot easier. Thank You!!! |

8:30AM EST Match Game slot on GSN this morning was from January 1974 with JOe Flynn/Brett/Charles/Linda Kaye Henning/Richard/Betty WHite. I didn't catch the 8AM and only saw the tail end of the 8:30AM episode. Perhaps they've skipped back to 1974.

It all fits. The 8 AM 4/17/2017 episode on GSN was 1215. Previously, beginning on 1/26/15, GSN had aired MG78 from 1216 through to the end of MG79, and then continued with syndicated season 1. They cycled through that group of episodes at least twice. This latest cycle began with MG77, picking up exactly where they had left off from a previous cycle of MG77. Interesting that this cycle is not being repeated in the 8 AM hour, but GSN is currently running it in the 1 PM hour.
I love that these MG74 episodes are on now. Personally, I came late to the MG re-run tracking game, only watching GSN regularly starting in fall 2012, when MG74 was only on ONCE A DAY at 8:30 AM, (The reason I started watching then was that I had just finished watching the 30 episode DVD set, and really wanted to see more.) GSN added the 8:00 AM slot in the spring of 2013 (which continues to this day). From that point in 2012, GSN progressed through a steady but incomplete rotation of MG74 though MG79. I only started tracking MG data after MG75 was already airing in 2013.
Obviously, the advent of BUZZR has resulted in an explosion of MG airings from multiple years, but except for two episodes on BUZZR, MG74 has remained in the vault since the last GSN airings in 2012/2013. I am really looking forward to watching these MG74 episodes.

I'll need to go thru my collection to figure out if any of these MG74 airings would back fill any of my collection. I know I pretty much have #121 and later, with a few gaps here and there.

Just a quick heads up. The GSN online schedule has been showing Match Game celebrity guests for most of the airings. From what I can see, looks like we're getting episode #165!

And if you've been watching some recent promos with clips from Match Game, you may have noticed that one of them shows clips from the only week done outside of Studio 33. One week of shows was done at Studio 41; not exactly sure why (cbstelevisioncity.com says MG taped at 33 and 41 in February 1974). Studio 33 (the Bob Barker Studio) is the only one of the original four with the distinct left/right audience steps; 31 also had it, but its audience pit was covered in concrete in the early 1960's. Since then, only 33 kept it. |
