Just posted about it in the GSN Schedule Updates thread. It seems it's just today.
Nope, according to Zap2it, it's every 1:00-2:00PM the rest of this week. I was looking at my DVR guide which hasn't been updated yet. I saw the 1:00PM episode briefly, looks like they are starting the lease over (921).
So, how long has it been since pre-90s classics have aired on GSN after noon?

dare2be,
Do you know why Cheryl Brooks returned on episode 1111? She had previously lost 5-4 on episode 1074, after having won two games, and $6,200.

So, it looks like there were two potential issues. On round one, "Laura married a riflery instructor. On their honeymoon, he kept stopping to blank" Cheryl said "reload", which didn't match a bleeped out answer which appeared to be "cock it" (a form of reloading). On her round two question, Cheryl's "beer can" answer did not match "beer bottle", much to the shock of the contestant and the audience.

In today's 8:00AM Match Game 78 airing on GSN, Gene slips up and says "Match Game 77" at the end.

Also, I'd like to ask, are the latest GSN airings of Match Game 78 among the range of episodes that Buzzr airs regularly? In other words, has GSN reached Buzzr territory yet?

Yes, I mentioned it in the GSN Miscellany thread. Buzzr airs MG78 episodes starting with #1141, GSN reached #1141 last Wednesday.

CS8689, I hope that puts your theory that Buzzr is making some episodes off-limits for GSN to air to rest.

I know this is late, but I was getting a bunch of '73 episodes that have been stored on my DVR for months during the past couple days off it... and I noticed a small blunder during the end of episode #35. The theme music wasn't looped properly: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPyynmxuGAoAlso, getting back to Buzzr's '75 airings, watching those and Bob Barker was introduced as a "new kid on the block" along with Rona Barrett. Guess they forgot Bob was on the second week of the series.

Commenting on these as I get to them, because I don't have a chance to watch much of anything live, but Buzzr showed the episode with Johnny Olson subbing for Gary Burghoff as a panelist last week! I caught some of this during my lunch break on a Sunday afternoon repeat at work. I found it funny (and totally a coincidence, obviously) that it was airing on the day of Daylight Saving Time considering Gene's explanation for Gary not showing up for the episode...

I was able to track down a 2-disc DVD set of the Australian version of Match Game called Blankety Blanks which ran there in 1977. This set contains the first 14 episodes, 2 discs from the original 5-disc set that was put out in Australia and other eastern countries years ago. I got it for $5.98 used on amazon.
It's so surreal watching this because they're literally a lighted physical sign and a theme music change away from being our Match Game '77. Show's cheaper (their audience matches are $100-$50-$25) but it is physically pretty much exactly the same. Even Graham Kennedy's hair looked like Gene Rayburn's did at the them. I feel like Graham, like Gene, also had the balance of humor in his own right and keeping control of the show nailed down pat. Panelists like Ugly Dave Gray were also great. Very funny series and a faithful adaptation to our version. I recommend it. I'm also trying to find volume 2 which contains other discs from that larger set but it's a bit expensive right now. I also can't find the entire 5-disc set as a whole. But in the meantime episodes 15-30 are on YouTube (as are the first 14).
Just a bit of a warning though: you'll need a region free DVD player to watch this on your television.

I'd like to ask, what were the CBS airdates for the week that's presently airing on GSN as of this morning? I know the previous lease had CBS episodes that started from around May 1978, after airing so much of the 1979-1980 syndicated season.

Don't know how many people remember me, but I'm back after a rather lengthy hiatus.
Anyways, according to the GSN online schedule, beginning Monday April 17th at 8:30am GSN will begin airing the Match Game 74 episodes again, starting with the week Joe Flynn was on. Then it continues with the William Shatner/Anne Meara week.

Welcome back, CW! I was wondering where you have been all this time.
As for Match Game 74 returning on April 17th, it makes me wonder if this is designed to just fill the episode order? It seems as if Match Game has a lot of episodes in the current lease, and it makes me wonder if there are greater than 400 episodes this time around? if so, that may explain why there is an afternoon run of Match Game on weekdays now.
I also wonder if we may end up getting a greater number of Eubanks' Card Sharks than the 140 episodes the last time around? The way things are going, it sure looks like it. It's very doubtful the lease is going to revert back just before or just after a Christmas week, but there's a pretty good chance of GSN entering 1988 in this latest lease.
IT wouldn't be the first time previously-aired episodes would be designed to fill the episode order. When GSN aired the 1983 and early-1984 episodes of Press Your Luck a few years back, GSN aired all of the earliest episodes except for #051 and #066 (the latter was thrown out due to the gameplay being horrible) - plus #110 and #111, which were the two earliest episodes from GSN's first lease acquired in 2001. I gave up on recording the earliest episodes of Press Your Luck after #109, the Presidents' Day episode, aired.
