Today's 8am episode from '77... (NOT a double post) Before the Super Match round, Gene announces that on Nov 7th ("The week after next"), the show would be moving to 11am eastern, 10am ct/pt so the show would be following The Price is Right. The ratings began to slide because of this change. CBS noted a ratings boost whenever MG was paired up with Price, and they felt moving it to 11:00 a.m. would solve this, but it didn't. Also, the same time, daytime Soaps were beginning to expand. Could MG have survived the expansion of the Soaps, without changing timeslots?

MG77 1127 and 1128 were aired by GSN yesterday and today at 8:30 am. Previously, I have noted that these two episodes had their endings cut off with a credit crunch. Today's airing of 1128 was intact, but I missed yesterday's 1127 airing. Did anyone catch it and was the end segment intact?

I'm subbed to matchgameproductions. He just announced that the PM version will be starting tomorrow. I already stated this on YouTube, but from the looks of things, the first four PM episodes, which were taped on July 13, 1975, were taped immediately after the Brenda Dickson shows. The text for the credits and most of the positions are identical, including the Associate Director, Production Supervisor, Lightning Director, and Technical Director.
Also, GSN ran the PM version uncut early on. The first time they ever showed it was in April 1998, after they got back the Goodson-Todman library.

I remember seeing on GameTV, during a promo for the network's Retro Block, a clip from Match Game which has one of the celebrities asking "Can we protest the questions?" In what episode number/CBS airdate of Match Game '75 was this quote mentioned?

So, is the rumor true that buzzr is airing the Anitra Ford episodes?

So, is the rumor true that buzzr is airing the Anitra Ford episodes? What's not a rumor is that those episodes are on the BUZZR schedule for the week of 10/15/2018. That's all anyone knows at the moment. But hopes are high.
Until recently, I would have been a bit skeptical that such long lost episodes were finally coming to air again. But with all of the other shows coming in October that have not been on the air in years, I have every reason to expect to see these episodes.
On a personal note, I have enjoyed fleshing out my MG76 notes with these 'fresh' episodes. In addition to basic information on game scores and Super Match answers that I had failed to record previously, there is other interesting information.
For example, during the week of episodes 681-685, CNR & Scoey Mitchell switched seats for an entire episode (though the name cards were never moved). And I added 697 to the list of episodes without any bonus round being played at all.

johnnyo, do you have a list of all known episodes (CBS and Daily Syndication) with no Super Match?

johnnyo , do you have a list of all known episodes (CBS and Daily Syndication) with no Super Match? I have a partial list of CBS episodes with no Super or H2H match. I have also a partial list of CBS episodes with only one bonus round played (either Super or H2H).
I wasn't always actively making note of these episodes, which is one reason the list is partial; the other reason is that I only have data for episodes I have actually seen. In any case, it would be a simple (if potentially time-consuming) effort go back at some point and compile a more complete list from my notes.
Regarding syndication I don't have any detailed notes. Regardless, I would not expect too many episodes without bonus rounds, as it was a fixed format show, with six Super Matches always played over each 5 episode "week". I guess it would have been more likely on the first episode of the week, which always started with a new game. So, if that first game ended in a tie, the six regular questions might have pushed the first Super Match of the week into the second episode.

Apologies if this has been asked before: What eps. of "Match Game" are in GSN's current lease? Seems like they must have several years because I saw '77 and '78 last week and in the GSN schedule thread it was mentioned that they're going back to '74 tomorrow.

Just a quick note on Darlene Landon, the contestant who began playing on Episode 717, the second Anitra Ford episode.
Landon was still the champion on episode 723, the first episode after all of the skips. She left MG76 after winning $22,750.

When Was The First Time GSN Aired Match Game 74?

GSN first aired during their first few years of existence.
Early on, they had the 1981-1982 Syndicated season in the morning, the 1977 episodes in the afternoon, and the 1974 episodes late at night. At least that was how I remember it being in 1997.
I'm pretty sure they hadn't converted the other years yet. I remember first seeing 1975-1976; 1978-1979 in 1999-2001.

johnnyo ericlip I need your help. I was looking through newspapers.com, checking all 1977 issues of The New York Daily News, and The Los Angeles Times. Apparently, the show did air on January 20, 1977. At least in L.A., though. In N.Y.C., it didn't air there. Also, there was a U.S. Tennis Tournament on Labor Day of that year. Finally, to my surprise, there was a Football Game listed for Boxing Day 1977. It was Chicago Bears Vs. Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings Vs. Los Angeles Rams. My question is, did Gene plug this or not? And does this throw off the accuracy of the airdates of the CBS episodes? I know that on November 23, Gene clearly stated that it was Thanksgiving Eve. If I find anymore that we didn't know about until now, I'll tag you again.

If I find anymore that we didn't know about until now, I'll tag you again. - I work for a CBS affiliate and the network has a long standing practice of airing repeats for the West Coast if there's a scheduled preemption for at least half the country. If the preemption is unexpected, like in the case of breaking news, the "new" show will air as scheduled in the other time zones. In this case, coverage of Jimmy Carter's inauguration was scheduled to run until 4PM ET, preempting MG in the Eastern and Central time zones. - CBS aired the U.S. Open that year but on Monday, September 5th, they only aired highlights at 11:30PM ET. The only "live" coverage I found was on Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th -- when the men's and women's finals took place. - Yes, Match Game was preempted on December 26, 1977 by the NFL games. Gene did not mention it during either 1123 or 1124. In fact, in 1124, he said it was the day after Christmas. Maybe these episodes were taped before the mid-December timeslot switch was made? The show would have aired on the 26th, if it had remained in the morning slot. So, now the airdates starting with 1124 are thrown off -- which will also throw off the New Year's episodes for '78. Argh... I'll go back and edit the original post to add the December 26th preemption.

I tuned in to Match Game 75 on GameTV this afternoon (it was from April 1975), and i noticed a familiar pattern. Among all of what GameTV aired in this limited run since June, none had Charles Nelson Reilly as a panelist.
Considering that GameTV is re-airing the CNR week of Super Password from October 1984 this week, we can safely assume that Reilly has no problem clearing his Match Game appearances for future rebroadcasts.
