I've been recording it for quite awhile now, seen every episode in this lease, twice. Considering this lease runs from Episode 517-920 (minus a few gaps), and this is the 2nd time around showing this lease, I would say that the episodes in the 900s you've only seen once, since I was planning to record my missed episodes from the 905-910 range in the upcoming weeks. Now I won't get to. Do you have eps 905, 906 and 910?

Probably not. I don't save episodes of game shows, to be honest. I know some people collect, I can't do it though.
I started recording Match Game when GSN got this lease in April last year. Haven't missed an episode. I've recorded it since. Now I'm seeing the same ones again, which isn't bad, and I love the show anyway, but I'm almost burned out on these now.
GSN will most likely be going a third time around soon.
Well, maybe I'll record some of the others in a couple weeks, like Card Sharks. As busy as I've been if I keep recording Match Game and all the others, my DVR will get full. I'd hate to stop recording my Match Game, but temporarily or until GSN gets a new lease, I might have to.
My favorite ones are when Joey Bishop, Mary Wickes, Ed Asner, etc. come on the show, but I love them all.

Sad that Richard Dawson isn't on the Syndicated Match Game, but McLean Stevenson is in his spot, if I recall, and he was great on there. I mean, he appears in Dawson's spot eventually I think, as a "regular" This is just great news GSN picked up fresh episodes. Wow.

I wouldn't quite count on seeing McLean yet. He didn't appear until the middle of Syndie season 2

By the time McLean joined the show, it had greatly lost momentum. Although McLean did keep the show from being a total bore during the final syndicated season. Although to be honest, McLean was really funny during his 73/74 appearances (while he was still Colonel Blake).
During the first season of Syndie shows, the show was still funny. You still had plenty of hilarious moments. I thought they were funny. Not 1976 funny, but you could still get a laugh.

I dunno; it wasn't CBS funny but I don't really watch syndicated Match Game and think to myself that I don't really enjoy this. People claim the show was "tired" but I feel like it's far from it. It feels rushed, yeah, since they're cutting out the question writing commotion to squeeze in more commercial breaks, but there were definitely lots of silly moments, and Gene did a lot more goofy stuff since now that he wasn't doing the show for CBS it meant he could get away with being more over the top. If you wanna see Gene tired and clearly not having fun at his job, watch his tenure on Break the Bank or The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour. Even Gene Wood alluded to Gene's apathy about the latter by mentioning that Gene was dragged "kicking and screaming" into doing that show. If anything I've found that in most-all of McLean's post- M*A*S*H* shows, it's him that's the only likable thing about the show, the writing and the cast is always the clear weak link.

I watched a couple of episodes of MGHS a good while ago and I was thinking "wow, this isn't really that bad." Because Match Game's format was pretty much the same. But then the show switched over to the Hollywood Squares format for the second half and everything went down the drain. No bluffs, no secret square... basically all the fun little things that make Hollywood Squares as a game what it is weren't really there, and there was Jon Bauman hosting, and well, yeah. Mess.

Yuuuuuuup. This. Back when GSN didn't need to lease the G-T library I had always said that it would've been a good idea to package the Match Game half of the hour and air them on GSN as a fresh batch of Match Game episodes. Of course, we'll never see the show on GSN at all now.

I hope GSN got all the syndicated episodes. I will miss Richard, but I'm happy to see these back. When was the last time these were shown? 2009 or early half of 2010 is my guess. GSN aired them at 9am followed by MGPM at 9:30am for awhile. If I recall. I used to watch them while getting ready for school each morning, it was 6am my time. Now I can record them and actually watch them all again. Sent from my GT-P5113 using proboards

Gotta say, I prefer that later set (yeah, I know I'm gonna get crap because it looks like a confederate flag).
As a younger kid, I always preferred the later set over the first one.
Well, goodbye CBS episodes...for now. They'll be back.

I love them all, but it's just great to get a fresh slate of episodes.
If GSN really wanted to make it a "Throwback Thursday", add an episode of Match Game PM in there on Thursdays. I mean, just because they show Super Password on Thursdays is nothing special to me. Just a thought.
I haven't watched the MG episodes that were on this morning yet, I will later on, but I'm happy to see it back.

Well, goodbye CBS episodes...for now. They'll be back. tbh, I never even paid attention to that similarity until someone pointed it out. I tend to go for the first '70's set more but simply because I like the kitschy vibe to it. Though I don't hate that the next one existed because realistically, at the time styles were changing. That set wasn't gonna stay well into the '80's. It's kind of interesting looking back at it. Now I can see in watching those early '78 episodes that the star wheel was a clear sign that more changes were coming. It didn't match that first set at all but obviously fit the second one perfectly.

GSN aired the episodes with Kirstie Alley yesterday of Match Game. I heard that she was on that version because caseyabell posted an article on Game Show Follies. Kirstie described herself as an interior designer, yeah maybe in Kansas. She said she was in LA for work, I guess she meant in the interior design department, but I think she came to LA the reason a lot of people do. To become an actress. It's possible that she didn't want people to know on a game show that she wants to be an actress. Maybe she knew she would be on a "big" TV show. Her acting career wasn't really that great though. She's done some things here and there, but it was more of a fad. She also didn't seem amused when Gene was joking with her. She seemed kind of like a snob on there for some reason. Well, she's always come off as that to me. She's always been kind of strange to me. Gosh, maybe game shows were too out of her league. Hey, I can understand if she needed money going into Hollywood, so she appeared on a game show, or two. She was on Password Plus in 1980 I read.
