Thanks a lot, I never thought to look at the position of the wheel when it came down in 1407! Do you remember if it was on a double? I don't, but I can track down that episode and take a look. I checked the tape. On Tuesday's show, the wheel is on a double on Debralee's name, so Monday's second game must have been the one where Sylvia got the $250 in the Audience Match. Also, to confirm that the $5,000 win was indeed with Debralee, when the wheel landed on her name on Wednesday's show, Gene mentioned that she had won earlier in the week. Now a question I have: I know episode #7 of "Match Game '73" hasn't aired for years, but I know some collectors do have it from earlier GSN runs. Does anyone know what the results were of that day's Super Match? There had to be at least one that was played that day.

Regarding episode 7, there were two Super Match rounds played. Episode 6 ended with a game in progress. A Super Match followed, and possibly a H2H match, but it is impossible to tell from watching episodes 6 & 8. In any case, whoever played the first Super Match on episode 7 lost the next game. Episode 7 ended after the second Super Match, and then episode 8 opened with the H2H match.

I just wanted to post some thoughts on episode 19, which was skipped by BUZZR earlier this week.
Ep. 18 ended in the middle of a game between six time winner Jeff Nichols and Donna Wiser. When ep. 20 begins, Helen Molnar is a new champion, having won one game and played the Super Match. The first action on ep. 20 is Molnar playing the H2H match.
What happened on ep. 19? Well, either Jeff Nicols won his seventh game, or Donna Wiser defeated him. Whoever won played at least a Super Match, possibly a H2H match, and then lost the next game to Molnar, who was then able to complete the Super Match.

Is this correct? Did episode 7 REALLY air during the very first cycle of Match Game 73 in the mid-1990's?

My notes for #19 say that Jo Ann Pflug played a Head-to-Head match for $2,500 but that there was no win. I don't know off the top of my head which contestant played it.
Regarding #7, looking at my GSN schedules from 1998, the whole second week of MG '73 aired from 4/27 to 5/1.

What about the first three episodes of week 7 of MG '73? Did GSN ever show those back in the 90's?

What about the first three episodes of week 7 of MG '73? Did GSN ever show those back in the 90's? They didn't air in 1998. I know that much. I don't know if they aired on the network earlier than that, though. These episodes (31-33) were all unfortunately skipped by BUZZR as well. When ep. 34 begins, Jennifer Somerset is introduced as a 4-time champion with winnings of $9,400. That breaks down into winning 4 games at $100 each, scoring two Super Matches at $250 each, scoring two Super Matches at $500, one H2H match at $2,500,and one H2H match at $5,000. When episode 30 ended, Bob Rolf had just won his second game, and ep.31 was to begin with Bob playing the Super Match. So, across eps 31-33, one of two things likely happened: 1) Jennifer Somerset defeated Bob Rolf on ep. 31, or; 2) Bob Rolf played another game on ep. 31 against an unknown opponent, and whoever won that game lost to Jennifer Somerset. I only suggest #2 above based on the quicker pace of play on these early shows.

Ep. 49 was skipped by Buzzr yesterday as well. Time for another "Here's what must have happened on the skipped episode" recap As episode 48 ended, 2-time champ Patrick Taylor was getting ready to play his third game. Sandy Simmons is introduced as the challenger, but the episode ends before the game starts. As episode 50 begins, Sandy Simmons is the champ, having won one game and $5,600, and another game is underway. So, on episode 49, Sandy Simmons defeats Patrick Taylor, who leaves with $700. Sandy scores $500 in the Super Match, and another $5,000 in the H2H match. Another game is started with Beverly Venedelia as the challenger, Round one is completed, and the show ends.

I have that episode on tape from a 1998 airing, and Sandy won the $5,000 with Bobby Van.
