You may be wondering why I'm bumping up a thread that hasn't been posted in since 2016. Well, this is why:

Also, the past week or so, Game Show Network did not split-screen some Season 2 episodes of Catch 21, leaving rare instances of the credits and end-logos being played in fullscreen.

Merrill Heatter died 18 months ago, so a different production company would take it over. Maybe Scott Sternberg's company, who co-produced. Whether ALfonso and Mikki would come back, I don't know.

This is fantastic news. Catch 21 is a solid game show and I think Alfonso and Mikki were a great duo. Hopefully not much is changed.

well I hope for one change, if both teams freeze, then you should have to answer questions correctly to see your next card

This show had some potential to continue, and I'm glad it's coming back.

It was one of the very few GSN originals that I actually liked so I'm glad this is coming back for a new season. I wonder if Alfonso Ribeiro and Nikki Padilla will return as host and card dealer. The format was fine. Don't change a thing but up the money value of course say to $50,000.

I think the top prize will still be $25K for Catch-21, given GSN's prize budget, and many times a contestant won only $2K or $6K on the day, and some busted and only won the $1K in the main game. A few episodes in the original Catch 21 did up the top prize to $50K, I guess due to a lack of bonus wins that one season.

Regarding the part in bold: A little off-topic, but check out the fantasy revival thread in the General board. You'll see a lot of the same thing. "We'll keep things true to the original, but just up the prize value like every show's in primetime!" On another note, I'm very doubtful GSN's going to up the prize money.

I was not aware of a thread like that but thanks for the information on this. I just saw ladykelsey's "version" of the Catch 21 revival.

Status quo with the host, but we've got a new dealer in town.

Will Scott Sternberg's company still produce the show? Merrill Heatter's company co-produced the show, but he passed two years ago so I suspect his name won't be tied to this version as his production company is presumed to be out of business.

well I hope for one change, if both teams freeze, then you should have to answer questions correctly to see your next card I agree, too. And they should go back to the GAMBIT rule about not showing the card until AFTER a contestant decides to keep/pass. If the option is "PASS", then it goes to the contestant with the higher amount, who still cannot freeze.
