Keep in mind also that episodes prior to Season 7 were aired in a scrambled fashion, for instance, the first aired episode from September 12, 1983 could be the 14th taped episode, while the first-taped episode could be aired on September 16 and so on, now we might not see the era of where episodes were aired in scrambled fashion in the On-Demand service but Sajak doesn't mind about putting the episodes that featured the fur coat being offered as a special prize.

I could have sworn GSN also aired the first syndicated season? Didn't Sony transfer Season 1 too?

IIRC Sony only transfered seasons 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, and 14 to digibetacam when GSN was rerunning Wheel. And Season 2 as well. Part of the 1987-88 season(season 5) was definitely aired on GSN circa 1995-96. Chuck Donegan has one or two episodes on his Dailymotion page from that season taped off GSN with the logo of the time.

The WOF and J! channel has launched. No classics for WOF, though. J! is currently on a Season 29 episode.

I believe so. The J! episode is from the TOC.

I believe so. The J! episode is from the TOC. That's what I thought. That being the case, I personally see no reason to watch the channels when I can watch whichever ones I want any time from the On Demand playlist. In any event, they are two great shows, and it is nice that they have their own channels anyway. The casual viewer won't care what year they are from. And Jeopardy fans of all ages will be thrilled to see Alex again, no doubt.

While watching WOF, I noticed one of the prizes was SLOTS. Would that be for the GSN Casino app?

I still don't buy the argument that Pat's the one keeping classic "Wheel" from airing. Numerous classic eps. of "Wheel" itself have aired on GSN, all with Pat as host (except for one Woolery ep. in the Merv Griffin tribute). Plus, he's in 1980's eps. of "Super Password" and "Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour" that have aired on BUZZR in the last few years. If he wanted his older work -- be it "Wheel" or anything else -- not shown, he's doing a terrible job of it. (The only thing I've ever heard him complain about was the shopping era, anyway; has he ever spoken unfavorably on the 90's or even early 2000's eps that haven't aired in years?)

Yeah, I think people are reading too far into this. I doubt Pat has anything to do with the selection of episodes being shown. Even if he would object to the shopping episodes, I can't imagine him having any major objections to, say, episodes from the 90s or 2000s. I have a feeling that Sony simply is airing the most recent episodes because they appear less dated and are more likely to appeal to a casual viewer.
