I have a feeling that Sony simply is airing the most recent episodes because they appear less dated and are more likely to appeal to a casual viewer.

I have no doubt that is the reason.  Still would've been nice to see at least a sampling of the 80's and 90's eps.  Even just the season premieres like Jeopardy! has done.

yeah it is out there even in Sony's vault. Surely it hasn't been wiped
