There was an interesting little gaffe by David in the first Sweep of Champions episode that aired on Buzzr today. During his sign off, after Peg and Priscilla had won the $5,000, he said "the next time you and your sister are in a checkout stand and you hear the beep. . .", insinuating that Peg and Priscilla were sisters. However, at the beginning of each of their episodes, Peg and Priscilla actually introduced themselves as friends/coworkers who had met working at a restaurant, not sisters.

A couple of interesting notes about the 1:30 p.m. Sweep of Champions episode that aired today:
1) After an absolute blowout performance in the front game, Tamara and Kevin amassed a whopping $1,809 in their big sweep, which has got to be the highest total of any team in all the Lifetime run of the series. After such a blockbuster big sweep, it is a crying shame that they totally got stumped on the "Stove Top" clue in the bonus round. Interestingly, in their first appearance, Tamara and Kevin scored $1,500+ in that big sweep as well, which in itself was almost a record. Excepting the fact that they struck out in both their bonus rounds on their two appearances, Tamara and Kevin were arguably the best team to ever compete during the Lifetime run of the series, at least in terms of big sweep performance
2) This episode must have run very long, as evidenced by some very unique edits. First of all, after the big sweep and before the commercial break, there was no contestant plug like usually is the case after the big sweep. Instead, it just goes straight into a set of two fee plugs read by Johnny. Secondly, the credit sequence for this episode was extremely short; almost immediately Johnny reads the final set of fee plugs, you hear Johnny's sign off, the Al Howard Productions logo is shown, and the show goes off the air.

The Big Sweep was 30 seconds shorter than the designated time of 3:20.

All three players in #1612 appeared previously, but Will & Mike were brought back due to an error. So not really a Sweep of Champions episode.

I've never seen a "hybrid" episode like this before, where they have two champion teams, and one team of non-champions being brought back from a previous episode. I don't even think the two champion teams were introduced as "champions."

Another thing I noticed is that Will and Mike were in the audience for the previous taping session wearing the same clothes. Either this session wa taped the day after, or they did ten show in one day and just changed the audience after the fifth show.

In addition, at least for this "hybrid" episode, we're back to seeing the 10-second ads that we've been used to seeing on WoF and J!, and even during the GSN ad breaks. We've even seen the 10-second ads appearing during the ad breaks on the Family Channel programming too.

I just find it incredibly weird that they had three teams who had obviously played the game before in the exact same season (two having actually won their Big Sweep), and yet they totally pretended like they were brand new contestants without acknowledging their prior involvement on the show. I can't recall anything else like that on any other game show.

So, we got at least 7 episodes remaining with the Shopping List (the remaining 5 with the Sweep of Champions, and at least 2 regular), then the TV Mystery Product reappears, the International Bread Center/Manager's Special combo, and I think another first time Big Money Maker came in-between. In the episodes with the Shopping List, there could be another team that really finished the Big Sweep with a near completely empty cart but had picked up at least $300 as a subtotal, perhaps $400 as a subtotal including the Mini-Sweep.

The episodes with the Magazine Display should be airing soon as well. Additionally, the Crackerjackpot will return on the Mother-Daughter episodes whenever they air.

I'm pretty sure the Frozen Yogurt comes back in another session.

Although I can't be certain, I think the unknown team from the Steven/Wendy vs. Debbie/Michelle vs. ?/? Champions episode might be Pam & Karen from the 1993-1994 season (June 22, 1994 episode to be exact). When looking at the audience, you can see them to the left of Jana & Teresa.

I also noticed Eric and Matt sitting in front of Susan and Julie. Maybe the didn't have time to select them, because they would come back for another Sweep Of Champions that was done during a normal taping session.

Also, that "Surf City" clue was already used earlier this season and Scooter and Richard found the Surf for the $5000.
