Dare I add Sinatra from Thousand Dollar Bee in the mix? Or does he not technically count?

▲ Oh, he certainly counts. I just forgot about him myself, is all. But yes, there's another one for the mix.
Another I just thought of would be the host of Nick Arcade, whose name honestly escapes me right now... Phil Moore, was it? Or something like that. There's also the late Monteria Ivey, who helmed PBS's clever but short-lived Think Twice in 1993.

okay, there was a sporadic number of black hosts but since DFTL, it seems to be almost all of them anymore. You can't deny that the last 10 years has shown a massive increase in the number of black game show hosts.

Aaaaand... you're saying this is a bad thing? A good thing? Or just making the point? Speaking strictly as a mod, I don't know how to treat this.
I would, however, like to keep this thread from getting derailed into a sensitive area more compatible with the Debate board.

I would, however, like to keep this thread from getting derailed into a sensitive area more compatible with the Debate board. Probably just making a point. I would hate to see racial issues on the board, given what happened in social media (I've already been flamed for having an opinion over not liking a six letter word starting with N.) If it comes down to a debate about it, agreed. Take it to the debate board.

It's simply an observation. Recently in the game show world, it seems like we have to hire black game show hosts, and it seems like they're more interested in that as opposed to whether said hosts are any good or not. I've given examples, at least in my eye, of who has been good, who hasn't been that good and who's been in the middle.
That's not to say they're not good, just that there's been a massive increase in the last 10 years and I'd like to find out the rationale behind that.

▲ Fair enough, then, and taken at face value. I was just making sure, since you do have a bit of a history in wanting to be rather more controversial than is generally deemed proper.
I'm not really sure if there's any conscious rationale behind it, to be honest, except perhaps that it reflects the changing demographics of the audience for daytime TV, which has gotten rather more "urban" (for want of a better term) over the past ten or so years, particularly in the major markets. It's probably nothing more than that.

The game show entertainment industry is very scary in this day and age.

Lol it's scary because people of a different race are hosting game shows? Seriously?

No racism in the thread, regardless of its intent. Take it to the debate board.

Agreed. You're starting to play it way too close to the line there -- and on top of that, your provocative username isn't helping your image any either.
If you want or need the password to enter the Debate board, shoot one of us admins a PM and we'll provide it to you. Same goes for anyone else who may want to take a sensitive issue there.

Before I waltz out the door - people have it. Nobody chooses to use it. I'm going to enforce that people start using it. It's here for a reason.

no, It's really because there is a lack of balance for the genre between good clean family-oriented shows (i.e. Wheel) while others are dirty often somewhat controversial shows (i.e. Feud) and somehow the later is exceeding than the first.
